Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Langdon Hills home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Langdon Hills.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Langdon Hills home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I’ve always loved animals and have two gorgeous pet rabbits at home. I would love more animals but need to stick with pet sitting for now
I live in Leigh-on-Sea so am perfectly located to help you look after your pet / pets whilst you're away.
I am unable to care for pets in my own home. I can do pop in visits or stay with your pet overnight if required, whilst respecting your privacy, security and cleanliness.
I will visit, feed, play with your pet, ensure that the litter tray is cleaned and that your fur baby / babies as comfortable as possible. I am happy to provide dog walks and can administer medication if required.
I am happy to send regular photos, videos and updates of your pets for peace of mind. Let’s book in a meet & greet beforehand, to go through any medication, likes, dislikes, routine & any other important items.
Please contact me if you would like to book or require further information ‍
Pets are like family so I know how important it is to get the right fit with a pet sitter.
I hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you and kind regards Lauren

Experienced Pet sitter and walker for over a year, assisting with constant daily supervision and feeding, playing around the house with tennis balls and also outside in the garden. Have completed long walks of up to 4 miles a day every day. Been involved in a short dog dispute but acted quickly and managed to separate dogs, nobody got serious injuries and everyone is well. I am a qualified live in carer and often accept households with cats or dogs and absolutely love both, if I'm staying over looking after a client I don't mind animals sleeping with me in the bed and spend all of the time together. Animals have a lot of character and it can only take a very special person to understand them.I can sketch your Pet portraits and commission requests are very welcome! ♡Happy to help with what is necessary as I believe every Pet is unique and needs special care. I am normally more available in afternoons and evenings throughout the week, get in touch I can help you! Really looking forward to long walks and being outdoors! ♡♡♡

Hi, I’m Jessica — a fully insured London-based dog sitter offering local and travel sits
I have experience with a range of breeds and temperaments through my professional and volunteer sitting as well as volunteer work with the Dogs Trust. I have been dog sitting professionally for 2 years and it is my main job, not a side hustle.
I am currently studying remotely for a diploma in canine care and behaviour so am able to provide round the clock company for your fur baby.
I make it my priority to stick to your dog’s normal routine as much as possible to keep them calm and happy while you’re away.
I always offer a free meet and greet before confirming a sit so I can come and meet you and your pup and make sure we’re a good fit.
I am also happy to adjust rates depending on how long you would need me for, so please do reach out and we can discuss.

Hi there, I'm Jenny a cat lover living in UpminsterI grew up with 2 cats called Smudge and Evie. Smudge is a big character cat who has diabetes and an ability to make everyone love him in his quest for food. Evie is a wary character but loves belly rubs from her family. I miss them a lot as they live with my parents, and my house share isn't allowed cats. So this is where I've found cat sitting is a massive joy for me! I've been active on a different catsitting app for a while and have been advised to join PawShake aswell.During a visit, I'll cuddle, play, set out fresh food and water and change litter trays for your cat(s). Average visits are between 20-45 minutes and i am happy to take twice a day bookings. I'm also happy to look after other small animals such as rabbits and fish if needed. (And plants). I'll also put the bins out if bin day falls while you are away!I prefer to meet pets first before confirming a booking to understand their routines. Please just send me a message if you have any questions

Hi! I’m Halle, an animal lover with a lifelong passion caring for pets.
I love giving animals cuddles and attention, but I’m just as happy keeping them company while they relax. I have hands-on experience such as currently working in a kennel and cattery, where I care for cats and dogs through walking, feeding, administering medication, cleaning, and ensuring their health and safety. I’ve also completed courses in animal behaviour and hold a Pet Psychology Diploma.

Growing up, my home was always full of animals, and I’ve rescued several along the way. My most recent, Marshmallow, a sweet cat with medical issues and an unfortunate feral background. He taught me the importance of patience and gentle care. I am very comfortable working with anxious or nervous animals, always focusing on helping them feel secure and minimising stress.

I know how hard it is to leave your pets, so I treat every animal as if they were my own by offering love, attention, and consistent care. I’m also happy to keep you updated for extra peace of mind. Nothing makes me happier than helping animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved, whether through cuddles, companionship, or attentive care tailored to their needs🤍

PLEASE READ:

Same Household Rule: For walks, I only take pets from the same household at one time for safety and comfort.

Behavioural Information: Please let me know in advance if your pet has any behaviours I should be aware of, such as guarding, biting, anxiety, nervousness, or leash reactivity.

Health & Safety: Pets should be in good health for walks. Please make me aware if your pet needs limited exercise, gentle play only, or no play at all so I can tailor care to their needs.

Emergency Contact: If you will not have quick access to your phone, please provide me with an alternative emergency contact.

Walking Gear: Dogs should have a secure, well-fitted harness or collar and lead provided by the owner.

Feeding & Medication: If your pet requires food or medication, clear instructions must be given in writing or by text message, clearly.

House Access: Please ensure I can safely and securely access your home for visits/walks.

Weather Conditions: Walks may be shortened or adjusted in extreme weather (very hot, icy, or stormy conditions) to ensure your pet’s safety.

Extra Information: Some details may not seem necessary, but any information you can provide me about your pet is always helpful in making sure they’re cared for in the best way possible.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me as I'd be happy to answer. My main concern is the safety and happiness of your pet but also your reassurance of my care️

You could probably open a zoo with the amount of animals I've had to look after / own / care for! My childhood has always been surrounded by furry friends and even when younger my parents used to dog sit! I've got a little experience of playing and looking after ferrets and cats but my biggest knowledge is dogs of all ages and sizes. I'm available throughout the day at different times but happy to adjust to your animal's needs if there's a specific time required. If your animal is a nervous one, we can arrange a meet up so that it's not a stranger on their first meet in their home. Home visits can be adjusted, I set the times for 30 mins or an hour but if more / less is needed just let me know. Walks can also be adjusted depending on the fitness level, age and demand of your pet. I also love taking photos so the chances are you'll have a pet photoshoot included! By day to day I'm cabin crew due to my restricted flying hours I get a lot of time off and with plans to hopefully buy my own home next year with my partner, I'm looking to earn some extra money to help us get there a little bit quicker! It's vital for an animal to get their daily walks and exercise and sometimes life gets in the way of being able to get them the full attention they deserve. If you have any questions, doubts or worries, drop me a message and I'm always happy to send updated pictures and messages to reassure you that your furry child is in great hands!

My husband and I are keen adventurers we love walking, nature and cosying up to watch a movie. We are very disciplined with pet routines and are very keen to spoil them with lots of affection once they warm up to us. I have owned numerous pets including aquatic pets (fish/axolotl), birds(budgies), rats, and chickens since childhood. All of which have lived well past their maximum life expectancy, and have had positive reports from their vets. I have even managed to travel with my pets they settled well. We love pets and would love to own more if we could move to a bigger space (dog or cat). My husband and I would love to travel the uk more and we are open to any setup. We are currently only available during school holidays due to our work. Please get in touch, we'd love to consider your pet sitting request. We are offering house and petsitting opportunities during school holidays; we would love to travel away from our local area and are open to UK wide bookings.
