Hi there! I'm Greta, a software developer who lives in Altrincham, just south of Manchester. I grew up with love for all sorts of pets: dogs, cats, reptiles or farm animals. The only reason I do not have a pet right now is because me and my partner are waiting until we settle down and buy our own house!
A while ago I started using BorrowMyDoggy and had lots of experience with dogs of various size and age. The sits varied from several hours long to up to a month. I fell in love with dog cuddles in the morning and sunny walks during lunch, and now am a good friend with four local dog owners whose dogs I take care of regularly.
Later on I heard about TrustedHouseSitters app and started using it as well. I have done many house sits so far which have its own perks, like letting me travel around the world and see many places which wouldn't naturally come to mind!
My partner, who lives with me, is called Rob. He grew up in a rural farm with many animals like dogs, cats, pigs, horses, etc. He works remotely as a cyber security consultant and loves having pets over, or traveling around and taking care of them from a temporary home.
We are an active couple and love hiking so your dog will get lots of walkies! Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to have a chat anytime!

Pros: our dog was safe, our dog was loved, communication was clear and honest.
Cons: the sitter quit after 4 nights (out of the 9 we organised) as our dog weed on the carpet a few times with anxiety.
None of us expected this to happen, and our dog has never done this before. However, I picked this profile because of the experience, willingness to look after any dog, including puppies, ability to train dogs and experience with dogs with behaviour problems.
This seemed like a highly experienced and competent sitter. But in reality, I don't think there was any confidence, discipline, attempt at training a new routine or forethought regarding accidents that happen.
I'm very glad my dog was safe and well and is now stress free, but I had to pay £1.5k to fly home from our holiday early to pick up the dog, as we couldn't ask friends and family; we wanted a professional to look after our dog 24/7.
I would recommend Greta if you have an emergency back up in place as well, or if you want her to walk your dog. I would not recommend an over-night stay.
Response from Sitter:
I understand your frustration about the cancellation and I'd feel the same.
However, Sia appeared completely different than described and weeing on carpets was not the only house damage we had to deal with, considering it's a rental house.
We weren't aware of the flights since Sia was picked up by the parents. If we knew you were coming back we'd definitely find another way to deal with this!
