Luka

Hey! I'm Luka, your future (and maybe past) pet sitter, currently based in Arbroath / Dundee. Over the last few years I've enjoyed looking after cats and dogs of all sizes and attitudes, rats, fish, and a wildly aggressive Guinea pig. I enjoy getting to know them as they are, learning what works for them and what needs they have, and helping them be the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves.

Spending time around animals has always felt natural for me, as I grew up with 2 cats and a border collie/springer spaniel mix. I greatly enjoyed growing with my dog, helping to train her (and play with her) as a puppy and make sure she was comfortable in old age. I now live with my own tuxedo cat, Freddie.

As a way to spend more time with animals, I volunteered at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home twice. Once was while I was in high school, for a week of chosen charity work, and then later for a longer stint a few years ago, volunteering as a donations delivery driver. Realising this was something I deeply enjoyed, I made the move to join Pawshake and have not looked back. It brings me so much pleasure to meet and care for all the crazy characters we choose to share our homes with!

As Freddie is very used to being an only child, I'm not able to offer boarding for pets, however I am more than happy to come to your homes to care for pets there, overnights included. I have a car, so travel is not an issue, and means I can offer longer walks for more adventurous dogs.

I'm confident to administer medication or help with training/grooming, if you run me through what's needed. Also more than happy to take care of plants or other little tasks while you're away.
