I have grown up with pretty much every pet you can imagine; dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, fish, stick insects, and even a horse! I have always been a huge animal lover and it has even inspired me to go back to school in order to work with animals full time, as such I changed my career path and now study a part time degree in Biology.
I now work for Pets at Home where I have gained a wealth of knowledge on small animal care (including fish and reptiles). I have also had full dog grooming training, and am in the midst of getting my Animal Care Diploma.
In addition, for the past year I have been volunteering weekly for Dog’s Trust where I care for and walk all sorts of different dogs - lots of which are particularly nervous. This kind of experience is invaluable as I am now a very confident dog walker and the lessons I have had in dog training have made me an adept at dog body language.
We cannot currently have our own dog or cat, but we do have 4 wonderful rat ladies and two male rats. There is nothing I love more than being with animals and looking after them - especially when they need it most.
If I can use my extensive background with animals to help others out who need it then it would be great experience for me and my studies.
Fantastic professional and really easy to communicate with. My Labrador puppy is a hand full. He absolutely loved his time away with Holly and she was so very thoughtful with updates.
Holly was fantastic with my 2 cats, she sent me regular updates and looked after them wonderfully! I can highly recommend her.
I have grown up with a menagerie of animals, so no pet is too big or too small for me to love.
I grew up with a border collie since I was 6, sadly after he passed away we adopted a collie cross called Charlie. In my later teenage years my parents adopted another collie cross, and I spent my time helping to raise them and learning the true meaning of man's best friend. After moving 4 hours away from them to go to university in 2014, I have missed them dearly every day. In more recent years I realised I really want to devote my life to helping animals, so I am returning to university in October to study a degree in Biology in order to progress into Zoology. I hope I can use this time to gain some more personal experience, and put my extensive animal care skills to good use and help others out. I am more than happy to do it all - be it pet sitting (my house or yours), dog walking, play time, or maybe your furry friend just needs a bit of company - I would be thrilled to help!
