I have grown up with pretty much every pet you can imagine; dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, fish, stick insects, and even a horse! I have always been a huge animal lover and it has even inspired me to go back to school in order to work with animals full time, as such I changed my career path and am now training to become a registered vet nurse.
I currently work for Vets4Pets where I have gained a wealth of knowledge on small animal care (including fish and reptiles), pet health, and clinical procedures. I have also had full dog grooming training, and gained a CPD in Animal Care.
In addition, for the past year I have been volunteering weekly for Dog’s Trust where I care for and walk all sorts of different dogs - lots of which are particularly nervous. This kind of experience is invaluable as I am now a very confident dog walker and the lessons I have had in dog training have made me an adept at dog body language.
We cannot currently have our own dog or cat, but we do have 7 wonderful rats, 2 beautiful fish tanks, and a snake! There is nothing I love more than being with animals and looking after them - especially when they need it most.
If I can use my extensive background with animals to help others out who need it then it would be great experience for me and my studies.
I currently work all day Wednesdays and Thursdays + 1 in 4 weekends. Because of this, I will not be able to walk or dog/cat sit on those days.
Fantastic professional and really easy to communicate with. My Labrador puppy is a hand full. He absolutely loved his time away with Holly and she was so very thoughtful with updates.
Holly was fantastic with my 2 cats, she sent me regular updates and looked after them wonderfully! I can highly recommend her.
I have grown up with a menagerie of animals, so no pet is too big or too small for me to love.
I grew up with a border collie since I was 6, sadly after he passed away we adopted a collie cross called Charlie. In my later teenage years my parents adopted another collie cross, and I spent my time helping to raise them and learning the true meaning of man's best friend. After moving 4 hours away from them to go to university in 2014, I have missed them dearly every day. In more recent years I realised I really want to devote my life to helping animals, so I am returning to university in October to study a degree in Biology in order to progress into Zoology. I hope I can use this time to gain some more personal experience, and put my extensive animal care skills to good use and help others out. I am more than happy to do it all - be it pet sitting (my house or yours), dog walking, play time, or maybe your furry friend just needs a bit of company - I would be thrilled to help!
