About Darcy
Hi, I’m Darcy and I live in the Charminster area in Bournemouth. I am a very passionate individual and love spending my days with animals and making their days happier in any way that I can.
I am currently in full time employment as an animal care assistant at the RSPCA, my duties including husbandry, preparing enrichment and rehabilitation. Before my time at the RSPCA, I worked at the New Forest Kennels and Cattery, and have also volunteered with other animal welfare charity's such as The National Animal Welfare Trust during my university degree. I have also done rescue work overseas in Thailand where I worked in a wildlife rescue sanctuary with a number of different animals! Due to my work and voluntary roles, I have had exposure to animals from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of behavioural challenges.
I studied Animal Behaviour, Welfare and Conservation at Kingston Maurward and graduated this year with a 2:1, I have recently completed a course in canine first aid and am looking into a diploma for canine behaviour.
Due to this being something I will do alongside my full time work, flexibility is a must, but please feel free to drop me a message and I will see what I can do!
I have a little 5 year old cockapoo of my own who makes my day brighter every single day :) if your dog is good with other dogs and you feel comfortable, she can join in with your dogs day with me too! If not, my little Lilo can spend the day at grandmas so all my time and attention will be on your beloved pet.
