my name is Nica, I live at home with my family (3 children 13,11 and 6) and my French bulldog Derek - who is the friendliest dog you will ever meet! (Too friendly sometimes) he is very excitable when a new dog comes into the home, he will try to initiate play instantly, he really does not know how to play it cool, but he does settle down I promise. If your dog is a bit shy, Derek can come on a little strong, but I have no issue with creating space if needed in order to give your pet time to settle as it must be a little scary to enter a new home, with new people, without a little french bulldog by the name of Derek barking in their face and wanting them to run around the garden with him straight away (He did meet his match with a border collie once - and it was incredibly entertaining)

I live in a 4-bedroom house, with a large secure garden surrounded by 6 6-foot fence, if someone is home then the back door is always open so they can go in and out as they please, and I also live within walking distance to 4 large dog friendly fields/parks.

I much prefer the company of animals, more than people; their love and loyalty remain unmatched. I often dog sit for friends and family, providing a safe and loving home, with lots of treats, playtime and plenty of sofa snuggles. My youngest son will certainly make sure they get lots of treats. He absolutely loves meeting new dogs, and is always disappointed when it's time for them to leave.

Like people, all pets are different, and nobody knows your pet better than you, so if there are any requirements please let me know, for example what they enjoy. What don't they like? What's important to them and you? Any dietary requirements? Any treats they really love? Any paticular toys they love? Or games they love to play? Anything they are scared of? Do they have a specific routine?

Whilst in my care, you will receive regular 'pupdates' and as many photos or videos as you want, as I know as a dog owner how reassuring and comforting this can be.

Photos of my home are included in the gallery, including the garden, where I don't think the photos do it justice. Included are photos of myself *hello* and my dog Derek, and other dogs belonging to my family/friends who I regularly look after. (If you are wondering how an earth I got that photo of 4 crazy French bulldogs all looking at the camera at the same time, the answer would be with great difficulty)

I use positive reinforcement and reward good behaviour when it comes to mischievous behaviour/disobedience and they all have their moments. I am firm and use the time-out method. This works effectively with my own dog, who has landed himself in time out a fair few times, as sometimes he can be a bit of a twat 😂

if oral medication is required I have no problem with this and would usually hide it inside some cheese, or food of some kind, as they just know don't they....(well mine certainly does and spits it out) if they need ointment, or eye drops or any other form of medication this isn't an issue, my only ask that you run through it with me so I fully understand what needs to be done and when.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I will always answer open and honestly. I fully understand how hard it is to leave your pet, I always struggle leaving my dog. You just want someone to love them as much as you do, and I promise you I will.
