About Heather
Hello. I am Heather. I am a friendly, reliable and loving dog/pet sitter. I have a licence from the council to board pets, have my own pet insurance for animals in my care and have been first aid trained for pets. I have an enhanced DBS certificate & I also hold a health, hygiene and safety certificate. I have over 40 years experience of walking other peoples dogs and have been pet sitting for cats young and very old as well as many other different animals in the pets home or mine for 35 years. I have always had animals in my life since my child hood and had pets such as Labradors, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, a budgie, fish and a tortoise aever since starting my own family 30 years ago. I currently have a golden Labrador who is friendly, playful, sometime bouncy and adores company of other dogs,I also have a very old cat(she is 22 years old) as well as a younger cat who is very used to dogs and other pets that come for their holidays with us and 2 very friendly rabbits and a red footed tortoise. I am able to look after your pets in my home(I offer them a home from home)or I can visit them in their own home.
A free meet and greet is always done before any booking is made and any new pet is looked after to check we are the right match. A trial night will need to be booked for any new dog(s) boarding longer than two nights. All pets need to come with an up to date vaccination card and enough food for their stay and be up to date with flea and worm treatment prior to any stay. I have plenty of spare bowls, beds and toys for dogs coming to stay with me. I also have stairs to the sofa for the smaller dogs I look after in my home. Unfortunately I am not boarding dogs on raw food including dogs staying for daycare and bringing food with them.
I have looked after all age range cats from pregnant and nursing cats and new born kittens up to very senior(our last cats lived until they were 20 and 22+ years)I have a good size 4 bedroom house with a safe good size garden with 6 foot fence and locks on the gate. we live beside fields and a park which is great for the dogs to have a run and play fetch and we often walk to woods. The country side fields are a 5 minute walk from our house and they lead to a lake where my Labrador and the dogs I look after can have a swim if they want when we are there. We also explore woods, river walks and the beach.
I am at home most of the day as I am a full time mum and pet sitting and walking dogs is my main job. Having always had animals I know how important it is to find that special person to look and care for your pet(s)as much as you do when you are away and unable to be there. I would give your pets all the time, love, fuss, attention and care that they need when you are away. whilst they are with me they would be looked after as if they were my own. I would also be happy to give you updates and send photos of your pet in my care.
If I was to come to your house to care for your pets whilst you were away for a night or more I would be happy to pick up post, close and open your curtains, turn on lights and water house plants.
Please note that once you contact me and a meet and greet has happened, day(s)/dates need to be booked and bookings have to be confirmed and accepted by myself. I would like to stress the importance of making the booking as soon as possible after the meet and greet to guarantee the day(s) you are wanting as I am unable to honour day(s) that you are wanting unless a booking is made especially if days and weeks have passed by since the meet and greet. Please accept that bookings that haven`t been booked and are left as contact even after a meet and greet, so this is not a booking. As I have many pet owners who contact me and then I don't hear anything else from them and also many pet owners that come for a meet and greet and then I don't hear from them again or they contact me a few days or weeks before their holiday or day out expecting me to have their pet(s)here when there is no booking for them so I do suggest as soon after the meet and greet, a booking needs to be, if you are wanting me to look after your beloved pet(s) Availability is likely to change so I would strongly advise a pet owner as soon as possible to book asap to avoid disappointment.(ideally within 24 hours of a meet and greet) Also returning customers if you send me a enqiry for dates and I am able to help then please book as soon as possible as booking is not guaranteed until after a booking has been place(returning customers should send me a booking request within 48 hours of asking me about dates)
I hope the info has helped. Please contact me if you have any other questions and I will be more than happy to help. Many thanks kind regards Heather
