Greetings! I'm Melissa and I've recently moved from the US with my husband, 3 cats, and 1 rabbit. I've been in the veterinary field for 10 years and a qualified veterinary nurse for 6 years. When I first moved here to Bristol, I worked at a specialty veterinary clinic focusing on spinal and neurology cases. Through my education and career, I've realized that my passion is animal care, enrichment, and socialization, thus leading me to pet sitting. I was pet sitting in the states for my coworkers, clients at the veterinary practice I worked at, and my neighbors and I want to continue that work here full time.
I am in every sense of the phrase, a crazy cat lady! I enjoy the challenging cat who makes me work for their love, and I respect the cat who wants their own space. Do you have a cat that needs specialized play sessions with toys such as a laser pointer or playing fetch? I can provide long play sessions to contribute to your cat's enrichment. Do you have a shy cat that likes their own space? I can provide a safe, stress free visit while still making sure your cat gets the adequate care they need. My old coworkers gave me the nickname of Cat Whisperer and I strive to keep up that persona. I also love dogs, rabbits, other small furries, and all exotics. I am perfectly comfortable and capable of taking care of any exotics.
Due to my veterinary nurse background, I am able to give your pet medication if needed. I can give oral medication, injections such as insulin, physiotherapy, and massage. If your pet needs daily medication, monitoring after surgery, specialized medical care, or physical therapy, I am the pet sitter for you!
I'm a vegan, so I love all creatures large and small. I love to exercise, so taking your dog for a long walk to explore my new city is a great way to stay in shape. I want to continue my veterinary medical career, but I want to provide animal care at home rather than in a clinic setting. I'm passionate about cats, I'm fascinated by exotics, and I'd love to pet sit for your babies!
