About Jess
With two decades of experience, from scales to beaks to paws and hooves, it's not surprising I have a love for animals which has seen my pet sitting go international! Having completed a BTEC in equine management and CPD diplomas in equine psychology and crystal healing for animals, I am now undergoing a BSc in equine behaviour and welfare and a CPD diploma in an introduction to veterinary nursing, with intentions to progress to an MSc in applied animal behaviour and welfare.I am also saving to complete qualifications and gain certificates for various animal first aid courses, both basics and more advanced.
Alongside my qualifications, I have owned and worked with everything from fish, snakes, parrots, cats, dogs, horses and chickens my entire life! I've had the honour to work within the equine industry, from your local riding schools to your grand prix Olympic family, which sometimes could include the care of dogs and cats besides the horses. Family members and friends typically choose me as their first choice to care for their pets, knowing I will keep them safe, follow their routines, and use a mix of scientific, anecdotal and holistic to approach situations to ensure the welfare of the animal in question. I have worked with rescue animals, having homed a few myself, so I also have experience with behavioural issues.
Due to my household's current pets, it wouldn't be right for me to accept other pets into our home at this present moment in time. However, I do offer pop-in visits to work around university and other work. Happy to work with small or large animals as long as it's not a spider. That's my only big no go - spiders.
