Hello fellow pet lovers!
I'm a 3rd year student at the University of Kent, but I'm originally from Cyprus. Studying abroad has been amazing, but it came at a price, as I'm constantly away from my adorable poodle and gorgeous kitty. Since I miss them dearly, I would love nothing more but to spend my free time taking care of pets here. Ever since I can remember, I have always been around animals and my love has only grown stronger for them since I was old enough to care for them myself.
As a pet owner myself, I understand how difficult it is to leave your beloved pets when going on holiday, as well as the dilemma of finding the right person to look after them. I can assure you that I will take my responsibilities very seriously; after all, that's what I would expect from someone taking care of my babies. I have had my cat for about 15 years now and my dog for another 9, so I have experience taking care of energetic little ones as well as senior pets. I have also walked dogs volunteerily in Canterbury for about a year.
I am aware that each animal has their own character and specialised needs, so I will adjust my behaviour and responsibilities accordingly. If your pet requires that extra care, I am more than happy to spend more time with them than usual per day. Since my house is unsuitable to host pets, I will only be able to make visits or overnight stays at the owner's house - besides, that's where the animals would feel most comfortable.
I will strive to make both yours and the pets' experience as enjoyable as possible. As such, I will make sure the house is kept clean (including the kitty litter and garden), the pets are well fed, and groomed every day (if long-haired) to avoid shedding. I will also spend lots of time playing with them and giving them all my love to create a stress-free environment, since they will no doubt be missing you loads. To keep your mind at ease, I can send you regular text updates and cute pictures of your pets when I'm with them, for you to make sure everything is running smoothly. I can also collect your post, water any plants and feed any other small animals around the house, at no extra cost. Just be sure to let me know!
I also welcome meet ups with the owners and the pets beforehand, so that you can ensure your pets are in good hands.
When it comes to dog walking, I can walk 2 or 3 dogs at a time but no more than that, because I want to be able to give each dog my full attention, especially outside the house. Even though your pup may be well trained, I am likely to keep them on the leash just in case. Their safety is my number one concern.
Feel free to message me with any questions. I look forward to meeting and loving your best friends!
Michelle was a fantastic cat sitter for my two cats. She did exactly what I asked her to do. She was willing to sit with them and get to know them better. Zoe is a particularly nervous cat but Michelle managed to get Zoe to come so that she could take a photo of them both. Michelle kept me up to date with regular texts and photos. The two cats were both calm and relaxed when I got home.
Michelle was an absolute star with my two cats. She is such a lovely person who clearly likes cats very much. My two moggies are very special to me and so it is hard to leave them to go on holiday but Michelle contacted me each day with comments, pictures and videos to show how the cats were doing. It was such a relief to know that someone was looking after them so well. Thank you very much!
