Hello! We are Sorcha and Dave, a recently married couple who just moved back to Cardiff after 8+ years in London. We are new to Pawshake but had been looking after dogs in London for a while before making the move back to Cardiff.

We are lifelong dog owners and lovers, having owned and looked after a variety of dog breeds with different personalities, including those with complex medical needs. We also have our own dog, Frankie, who is a 2 year old cockapoo. Frankie is neutered, fully vaccinated and always up to date with his flea and worm treatments. He loves other dogs having lived with them for most of his life until now - he's a bit lonely and enjoys having other friends around to cuddle up and play.

Sorcha: I'm an Occupational Therapist and worked for the NHS for 8 years, but now I work as a lecturer. This means I work from home about 70% of the time and if I'm not at home, Dave is there holding the fort with Frankie. Dogs have always been my world and I even set up the pet therapy programme in my last NHS job. I have also been lovingly referred to as 'the dog whisperer' by friends, family and peers in dog rescue centres.

Dave: I'm a self-employed carpenter and so spent the majority of my time at home designing cool furniture or building in the back garden - if I'm out installing, Sorcha is at home with Frankie. I'm less of a man, and more of a human-sized labrador.

Our Services:

Availability: We both work from home the majority of the time and so are very flexible with availability, this also means your dog will not be left alone at any point during their stay with us. We are happy to accept regular dogs for daycare, or short/long stays for dog boarding. We may also be able to provide house visits or house sitting depending on the time of year.

The space: We live in a spacious end of terrace house with an enclosed garden that has plenty of space and smells for your dog to explore. Although we live on a main road, the house and garden are (thankfully!) very quiet so even nervous pups will feel safe and comfortable here. We don't have any "off limits" areas within the house or garden, your dog is welcome to relax wherever they feel most at home.

What we offer:

- Regular dog walks during their stay. We are within walking distance (<10mins) from both Thompson Park and Victoria Park which we frequent regularly with our own dog. We are a short drive from a variety of other lovely green spaces such as Llandaff Fields, Cefn Onn and Bute Park . On the weekends we tend to go further afield to more exciting places such as Ogmore Beach and the Bannau Brycheiniog.

- A huge amount of genuine love and attention. We are dog people through and through - our dog is part of our family and yours will be too.

- A spacious garden with free reign (including play time with bubbles and water features!)

- Regular updates and pictures. The photo albums on our phones are made up of approximately 99% dog photos and videos - why not add your dog into the mix too!

- We tailor our care to what works for you and your dog, just let us know what they need/want and we'll happily do the rest.
