About Amy
Walks Whiskers and Wags is my business name. I charge higher on here due to Pawshake extra charges:)
What sets me apart from other sitters is that I’m a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), fully qualified to provide expert, safe, and compassionate care for all animals, not just dogs. I offer one-to-one walks, in-home care for pets of all kinds, and professional nursing services such as medication administration, post-operative support, and health checks. With years of clinical experience and a genuine passion for animal welfare, I bring both trust and peace of mind to every visit. Whether it’s a nervous pup, a senior cat, or a bunny needing extra care, your pet is in expert hands.
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have been surrounded by them my whole life. I share my home with a variety of pets, each with their own personalities and needs, which has only deepened my understanding and appreciation for animal care. Working with animals isn’t just a job for me, it’s a true passion. I feel incredibly lucky to combine my veterinary nursing background with my genuine love for animals, helping pet owners feel confident and supported while giving their pets the care and attention they deserve. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because it’s not just a service I offer — it’s a lifestyle I truly enjoy. Every day is structured around giving pets the time, attention, and care they need, whether it’s solo dog walks, drop-in visits, or vet nurse services. I plan my week carefully to ensure each pet gets unhurried, personalised care and I always leave space for urgent bookings, medication visits, or extra cuddles when needed! With my own animals at home and a deep love for what I do, caring for pets is a seamless and fulfilling part of my everyday life.
When meeting new clients, it’s really important for me to ask:
“Is there anything I should know about your pet’s health, behaviour, or routine to make sure I give them the best and safest care possible?”
Here are some examples of what I’d want to know ahead of time:
Do they have any medical conditions or take medication?
Are they nervous around strangers, other animals, or certain sounds?
Do they have any mobility issues or sensitivities (like being touched in certain places)?
What’s their usual routine (feeding times, walk length, favourite toys)?
Have they had any recent injuries, surgery, or vet visits?
Are there any behaviours I should be aware of (e.g. barking, chewing, aggression, escape risks)?
Are they comfortable being handled or groomed?
Knowing these things helps me tailor my care, keep your pet happy, and avoid stress or accidents. It’s all about making sure your pet feels safe, understood, and well looked after — just like you would.
