Pet care experience
My partner and I have looked after a variety of animals including our family’s Chihuahua and 18 year old cat. We love all types of dogs (and will be getting our own Pommie in the future!) and look forward to welcoming your furry friend to our home :)
We offer a home away from home for dogs of all sizes, from puppies to seniors, and have experience with different medical conditions, rescue dogs and some behavioural issues. We do our best to accommodate every dog's needs and their happiness is our top priority!
We own a safety gate (for sectioning off stairs for puppies and carpeted areas for dogs with allergies), provide a range of toys for playtime with different breeds, supervise the dogs in our care with pet cameras, enjoy grooming our dogs, and you can expect regular updates with photos throughout their stay.
Availability
I am a primary school teacher currently working as a nanny for local families. On Mondays and Tuesdays, my partner and I work from 10am-3pm, so we can only sit on these days if your dog can be left alone for a few hours. Wednesday to Sunday and for holiday stays, we are always available (unless we are fully booked)!
Safety, trust and environment
We live in a detached 3 bedroom house with a large, bright and sunny fenced garden in a beautiful green area. We are lucky enough to be right next to Chafford Gorges nature reserve where we walk the dogs in our care regularly. We love exploring the area and visiting our many local parks and surrounding dog-friendly spaces. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and if we are boarding dogs from different families, each will have their own room to sleep in. We are also a 5 minute walk from our local Medivet for peace of mind!
We love getting more things for the dogs in our care, and currently have our own cooling mats, extra water bowls and a portable bottle for walks, fans and air conditioning for summer, and cosy dog bedding for winter. We provide machine washable puppy pads and have a supply of treats and poo bags of our own too. We keep a spare lead, and tags with our details on while your dog is staying with us for extra security. We also have a range of brushes and wipes for different fur types, and keep our own doggy first aid kit. We have thought about as many things as possible to ensure that your dog is given top quality care.
A typical day
My partner and I love to keep active, go on long walks and play with the dogs in our care. We sometimes go on trips, meet up with our friends with dogs and find dog-friendly restaurants too!
Information we would like to know about your pet
We have created a Google form which we would ask you to fill in before your stay with everything we need to know to provide the best care for your dog. Questions include:
- Does your dog have any medical conditions?
- Is your dog neutered/spayed?
- What is their eating, toileting and walking schedule?
- Where does your dog usually sleep?
- How does your dog react to other dogs?
We can host dogs from up to 3 families in our home at a time and would love to do a meet & greet to get to know them and see how they would get along with any other dogs that we might have during your booking! We would also encourage a trial day for longer stays to get your dog comfortable :)
