Hey! I am Anita, a mother of two children, fulltime university student (Nutrition) and a bank elderly healthcare worker. We live with two lovely white cats, a Bengal cat and two dwarf hamsters. I have done pet sitting for almost three years now as I love animals and I enjoy their company! Animals bring so much happiness and laughter in our lives and could not imagine not having any pets 😺.
I do house visits when owners are away and have looked after cats, rabbits and dogs. My services depend on the individual needs of the owners and their pets, I understand routines are very important and every pet is different. I normally feed the pets, groom them, play with them and do personal care for them (e.g. cleaning cat litter box etc.).
I have had cats for the past 25+ years, and I am passionate about animal welfare. Pets really do become a part of your family and that is why it is so important that they are looked after with loving care even when they are cared for by someone else! My own cats are now almost 12 years old, still active and affectionate brothers with their own personalities. One of them has been deaf since his birth so I understand how to look after pets with hard of hearing.
My newest addition is 4 years old rescue Bengal, super curious and energetic. Cats have always been my speciality and passion! I fostered cats at our home for Cats Protection in 2019-2020, and found it a privilege to care for these cats before they moved to their forever homes!
Before I joined Pawshake and when we lived in Spain, I did pet sitting twice for two different families. Both families had two cats and I really enjoyed the experiences. The cats were so excited to see me every time I came in the door which was lovely! I spent my time there feeding them, changing the water and cat litter, brushing their fur and playing with them.
I have some experience of looking after dogs (a puppy) and I am happy to learn more as I love dogs and it is in our dreams to have one when our children are a bit older!
We have never used the services of a pet sitter before and were concerned about our elderly cat who is on medication and needs just a little more looking after and we couldn't have been more delighted with Anita. She was caring, professional and conscientious and took care of our elderly cat and our other cat with the best care and attention. She sent us photo's and notes on how they were getting along, which were great to receive. We would have no hesitation in asking Anita to look after our cats again in the future.
I would definitely recommend Anita, she visited beforehand to meet my 2 cats and asked lots of questions about them so we were completely reassured we could trust her to look after them. I am so glad we chose this option instead of the cattery as we got regular photo updates and I can see my cats are happy. We will definitely be booking again in the future.
I volunteer for Cats Protection and do indoor fostering at our home.
