Hello,
My name is Dylan (or you can call me Dil) and I use they/them pronouns.
About me
I work 4 days a week for a young people's mental health charity as a counsellor. I am a vegan and massive animal lover (though I am comfortable feeding your dog whatever food they eat). Other things about me; I love nature, houseplants & gardening; I'm trans, queer, out and proud; and I'm currently getting into wildlife photography.
Motivation
I'm not currently in a position where I can have a dog in my life full time. I really, REALLY, love dogs. Having grown up around dogs, and having lived with dogs previously in my life, I miss having them around. It's important to me to spend time getting to know a dog for their own unique personality. I relish the process of building up trust, learning their communication and getting in sync with their needs. In particular I love the reciprocal nature of a relationship with dogs; I enjoy caring for them and meeting their needs while equally being provided with love, comfort and playfulness in return.
Experience
I grew up with dogs and have had my own dogs later on in life. This includes staffies, Sasha who was a mixed breed but mostly Jack Russell, and most recently Mini the pug.
Over the years I've also dog sat and walked my friends labradors, and have had a three year walking/sitting relationship with a wonderful sausage dog who I met on 'Borrow my doggie' .
I feel confident with all breeds of dog. Regardless of the breed I'd be wanting to speak to the human about their individual needs and preferences. In particular, if your dog is a rescue and/or has experienced trauma, I'd be wanting to learn their triggers, additional needs and what helps them to regulate so I can best look after them.
House & Practicalities
I currently have no pets in my home. I live in a three bed house with my partner (who is also vegan and an animal lover). I have a large garden space which is properly enclosed and secure (see photos). I live in Levenshulme in South Manchester. I have a car and am happy to have dogs in the car.
Availability
I don't work on Fridays so am generally always available to have a dog for the day or part of the day, and can give them full attention.
I work from home on Mondays so could have a dog for the day and would take them for a walk, however I would need to work for some of the time.
I can be available some weekends as well where dates don't clash with existing plans.
Boundaries
I would prefer to arrange a meet and greet before commiting to a long term arrangement. This would be to discuss the dogs needs, for the dog to meet me, and to ensure that we are all a good fit for each other.
I would love to be able to buy treats for your dog from time to time if that's was agreed, I would always check first.
Services I can offer
- Dog walking
-Doggy day care
-Overnights

For the first time ever, my two fur babies were disappointed to be home after their 16 night stay with Dyl 🙈 It is clear to see that they were loved and looked after as if they were Dyl's own, it was honestly like they hadn't been away. One of my dogs has anxiety which results in reactivity and Dyl wasn't phased by this. He can be extremely difficult to manage and this is always a huge worry for us, leaving him in someone elses hands, however Dyl worked with him and managed his needs beautifully. Both doggos came home so content, so beautifully clean and just so happy. It was a breath of fresh air, being able to enjoy our holiday without having to worry about our pups 🐶 😊 ❤️ wish I could give more than 5 stars 🌟
Our 4 dogs loved Dylan and were happy and relaxed when we got home. They'd been on walks rain or shine and given lots of fuss and attention. Dylan got to know them individually and had them well worked out, made us laugh when they gave us a run down of their personalities, quirks and funny behaviour we take for granted.
Dylan also took great care of our other animals: Gerbils, hamster, axolotl and dormice. They did a fab job, even tolerating the gerbils and their annoying habit of of kicking bedding into the water bowls, especially when just refilled.
It's hard to leave your furries and house with someone while you are away but Dylan made it effortless, lots of pics and updates and we knew they were all in safe hands and could just relax and enjoy our holiday. Came home to our house exactly as we left it.
Would definitely book again, many thanks x
