I am currently studying veterinary medicine at the University of Edinburgh as a mature student. As you can probably guess I absolutely adore animals big, small, furry, bald, four legged, no legs and more! I have a wealth of experience both medically and general day to day husbandry in looking after pets. I have worked with all kinds of animals including reptiles, fish and primates and can comfortably care for them all.
I care strongly about each animal's mental and physical welfare so will ensure that I look after them to the best of my abilities. I have a lot of experience working with dogs in their own and out of their own home. I love walks and know many good places around Edinburgh to take them. I also have my own car so if you pet is comfortable travelling we can go explore their favourite places too!
I sadly do not have my own pets at the moment, they remain at home with my family, as I have found that my degree is too demanding of time and not consistent as it requires weeks away for placements. For this reason I have held off getting my own pet because I don't feel it would be fair to them. However, I genuinley miss interacting with animals on a non vet basis and would love the opportunity to care for your pet(s) for short periods of time when you cannot.
I understand more than anyone the fear of handing over your pet to someone else and how much you care for them. I have had this experience and was fortunate enough to get a lovely pet sitter, they encouraged and convinced me of the good it can do which is why I have joined Pawshake.
