About Océane
Hello, my name is Océane (pronounced 'Oh-say-ane’)! I am an art student with a lifelong passion for animals.
I have always been surrounded by pets and have learnt to respect each animal’s individuality.
Much of this came from caring for my grandparents’ dog, who was highly reactive with adults and strangers; she taught me patience, careful introductions, and how to read body language.
At home I live with Louna, a notably lazy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Lilou, an equally relaxed Exotic Shorthair cat. Beyond my own pets I have studied the needs and typical energy levels of a wide range of species and breeds (including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, and reptiles) so I can adapt care to suit each animal.
I also assist my uncle with his Romanian rescue dog, who is strong-willed, energetic, and reactive towards other dogs. This experience has equipped me to remain calm, follow owners’ guidance, and support nervous or excitable animals with patience and consistency.
My Services Include:
- Dog walking
- Pet sitting and house sitting (in your home)
- Home visits
- Dog day care (daytime only)
!!Please note!!: I do not offer overnight boarding at my home, as I currently live with my parents and three siblings. Daytime stays can be arranged by agreement. Our resident Cavalier, Louna, and our cat, Lilou, are both relaxed and generally indifferent to visiting dogs; with sensible introductions, mixed company is usually straightforward. I will always prioritise a calm environment and your pet’s comfort.
Walks
My preferred routes include Blackford Hill, Arthur’s Seat, Newington Cemetery and the Braid Hermitage. I am equally happy to take gentler walks around the Meadows or your local park for lower-energy dogs. If you have a prefered route or park close to your home I am more than delighted to take them there.
Home Visits
I will feed your pet with the food you provide, offer companionship and structured play to break up the day and take dogs (or confident cats) into the garden for toilet breaks. Depending on routine and energy levels, I can provide one to three walks per day.
Small Animals
I am very comfortable caring for hamsters, rabbits, rats, and other small companions and give them the same careful attention as dogs and cats.
Before We Begin
I prefer to arrange a brief meet-and-greet so your pet can become familiar with me.
On occasion (with your permission), my brothers and sister may accompany me; they are responsible and enthusiastic animal lovers.
I will ask about routines, triggers, training preferences, and any health considerations. Clear, honest information helps me provide the best possible care for your animal.
If you are seeking a conscientious, composed, and detail-oriented sitter, I would be delighted to look after your pet as if they were my own.
