Hi! my names Kate and I'm a 3rd year veterinary student at the University of Edinburgh - so of course I love dogs and cats!! I'm from Linlithgow and am an experience cat owner, having unfortunately lost my little housecat illie at the start of the year.
I've been a pet sitter to friend's animals for years but would love to pet-sit more regularly to get a bit of pocket money and to improve my handling skills for becoming a vet (and of course for the cuddles). I am very confident and comfortable with both cats and dogs and would be happy to medicate a pet if that was needed. Also, being a vet has the advantage that I am trained to spot signs of distress or pain, so would be ideal if you had an animal with any medical problems.
For dogs, I love big walks and hillwalking, and have access to a car if you would like your dog to get a walk in a green space. I am also happy to work just about anywhere in Edinburgh as I have a bus pass. For cats, having had my own house cat means that I am happy dealing with litter trays, and understand how important it is to make time to play with a housecat.

Kate did a great job - texted me every day and also sent some pics. Bumblebee was in fine fettle with a clean litter tray when we got back - I think she hardly knew we were away :-)
My pet is difficult, being shy, also somewhat hostile for example if you walk towards him, hisses and may bite or scratch if he feels threatened. He isa delightful and kittenish as well. Kate explained he was rehomed late, there is a short window of opportunity. It will therefore be more difficult for him to learn. She is interested in his development, as I am. She has made practical suggestions as to how to get him into the pet carrier.
