About Lola
Hello! I’m Lola, I’m 23 years old and live in the West End of Glasgow, where I work as a freelancer in the film industry. Because my work schedule is flexible, I have plenty of time to focus on something that genuinely makes me happy — caring for animals.
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I started out as a dog walker when I was younger and, over the past four years, I’ve been a dedicated foster carer with PFSS (Pet Fostering Service Scotland). Through the charity, I’ve cared for both dogs and cats whose owners have faced difficult circumstances — from illness to temporary homelessness — often looking after them for months or even years at a time.
These experiences have taught me how to care for animals with all kinds of personalities and needs — from shy, nervous rescues to bouncy, high-energy pups. I take great pride in helping each pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable, giving them the time and patience they need to trust and settle into their new environment. It’s been such a rewarding journey, and it’s truly deepened my understanding of animal behaviour and emotional care.
In my day-to-day routine, I make sure every pet gets the right balance of exercise, play, and rest based on their personality and energy levels. I love taking dogs on long walks through Kelvingrove Park or along the River Kelvin, while cats get plenty of playtime and gentle attention at home. I always follow any dietary or medication schedules provided, and I keep owners regularly updated with photos and messages.
When it comes to special needs or emergencies, I’m confident and prepared. I have experience administering medication (including oral treatments and topical creams), monitoring recovery after vet visits, and handling anxious or reactive pets calmly and safely. I also keep a basic pet first aid kit at home and have completed an online Pet First Aid and CPR course to ensure I’m ready for any situation.
At home, my environment is calm, welcoming, and pet-friendly — perfect for animals who need a little extra comfort while away from their owners. I also currently have two foster cats of my own, Nyla and Kiera, who are well-socialised and love meeting new furry friends (though they’re always happy to stay elsewhere if needed).
I’m very flexible with my availability and happy to travel to collect or drop off pets to make things as smooth and stress-free as possible for both owners and animals. Whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or holiday cover, I’m fully committed to providing the same level of attention, affection, and reliability that I would want for my own pets.
I’d describe myself as friendly, confident, caring, and (hopefully!) funny, and I always strive to create a positive, loving experience for every pet I look after. I would absolutely love the opportunity to meet you and your pets and to make them feel right at home while you’re away.
