Hi! I’m Emma Armstrong and I’m a third year veterinary biosciences student at Glasgow University. I have always been interested in animals throughout my life and their care so now I am dedicating my life to them by studying them and hopefully in the future working on research which will improve their life. Previously, I have volunteered at Tollcross petting zoo for 6 months and Sandyhills veterinary clinic for 1 year.
Outside of animals my interests include volunteering at Glasgow NE food bank to help sort food donations. I initially started this volunteering as a placement for The Robertson Scholarship which I am a scholar within. But after seeing how much a few hours can help an organisation which is run primarily by volunteers and how much the help means to the clients using the service, I just couldn’t leave! And now I manage some sorts. I also enjoy fundraising for charities as I have previously zip slides from a 100ft crane over the Clyde to raise money for The Beatson Pebble Appeal.

Emma was great, reliable and professional. She took time to play with the cats as well as feeding and changing litter while I was away. It was reassuring to know that she has experience with animals before leaving my pets in her care.
