I grew up in South London and I’m currently working at a primary school in Woolwich, supporting students with learning difficulties. I’m available outside of school hours, on weekends and during the school holidays.
I love spending time with animals and at the moment I'm often looking after the family dog Jeppa. Since I unfortunately haven’t been able to keep pets (of my own) in the past few years, I am super keen to get to know some fur creatures when they need looking after on their human’s behalf.
As a child I have had various pets: a dog, rabbits, hamsters. We would often go on holidays, in the countryside, in France. There I looked after our neighbour's kitten and rabbit, and sometimes I would feed her lambs. I would go on walks with my mother, visiting the local pig farm and feeding the cows with salt. This is one of the reasons why I decided to become a vegertarian at 15 years old.
I have spent some years travelling, volunteering and working abroad. During my year in Australia, I did various odd jobs including farm work, helping out around the home, which often involved feeding the chickens. During my time in Turkey, during a volunteering placement, one of my daily tasks was to walk with their herd of sheep for grazing.
For home visits: I'm happy to water plants, collect post, clean/tidy/change litter tray and take the rubbish out. I will send photo & video updates. I usually triple check a home is securely locked before I leave. And of course, I will give lots of playtime and affection to your pet.
I am comfortable administering medicine orally, if required, and following clear instructions on general care to minimise disruption to your pet’s routine.
For house sitting: I will keep the home tidy and clean & tidy before I leave. I will send photo & video updates. Clean, tidy and change the litter tray, take the rubbish out. Regularly walk the dogs. Watch TV together with the cats and dogs and I'm more than happy to have them sleeping with me.
*For repeat and longer bookings: I'm happy to arrange a lower rate.
I'm available (at an hourly rate) for dog & cat sitting at your home - if your pet needs a companion.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Alex was really mindful of our timid and shh cat, Helena. She came over for a meet and greet and was extremely friendly and focused on Helena and was even able to give her a treat. Alex shared pictures/videos/messages on each visit and was understanding about our nerves going away from Helena for a week for the first time. The flat was cared for and tidy, and she spent plenty of time each day with Helena, playing, giving her treats and just being around - and this was all during extremely hot weather! Would recommend Alex!
Alex was a wonderful cat sitter while we were away for a week. Loads of communication and all while travelling quite a long distance on her bike to access the flat.
I have volunteered at FRIEND Farm Animal Sanctuary, Tonbridge. Rescued and looked after a stray dog in Spain. Feeding chickens in Australia. Walking with sheep for grazing in Turkey. Looking after a neighbour's rabbit and kitten. Regularly looking after and walking my partner's family dog (see photos). Occasionally feeding my friend's cats (see photos). I have a DBS certificate (police check)
