We are very proud to announce that we have been awarded the
maximum 5 star grading from our licensing board.
This rating is avaliable for public view on the EHDC website and recognises our skills, knowledge, environment, facilities, care standards and contingency plans.
A full copy is avaliable for clients to view at meet and greets if requested.
Due to high demand our Pawshake calendar is now virtually full for 2019 so visible online avaliability is low.
We do however welcome existing clients who have our details to contact us directly first as we may be able to accomodate previous boarders and we will open up the relevant dates accordingly if we can help.
We are now welcoming enquiries and bookings for 2020.
About us -
Mother (Maureen) is retired, although she remains a very active lady. She has been involved in various aspects of pet care throughout her life ranging from pet shop owner, championship dog showing, working field trials, dog breeding, dog groomer, right through to puppy trainer. She adores animals and sponsers several who are unable to find forever homes.
Daughter (Natalie) is a qualified RN who has grown up surrounded by animals. A keen walker and runner (great for active paws), with a love of photography and nature.
Both have many years of expertise, having owned different breeds of dogs, cats and small animals from birth through to death.
We have a small menagerie at present, two dogs and several cats.
All our pets are neutered, fully innoculated and are used to meeting new friends. The dogs are very sociable and the cats mingle quite happily although in good weather they usually spend their wakened time out and about.
We also have a pond full of fish, newts and frogs. and as keen wildlife enthusiasts, we are fortunate to have a variety of creatures who visit regularly.
Our motivation -
Lifelong lovers of all animals and passionate about quality care, we have decided to open our house to provide the best home from home experience we possibly can.
We have chosen Pawshake because of its personalised touch and community spirit. Like most we have had to use kennels for our own before but times have changed and we acknowledge that its much nicer and its much more settling to know your treasured pet is enjoying long walks, chasing balls, paddling in rivers, wagging their tail, meeting and playing with new friends, safely curled up asleep or having a new human play games to stimulate their natural instrincts while you are away.
Our promise -
Our boarders are seen as part of the family and they enjoy all the comforts of home.
We appreciate that it can be a worrying time for both owners and their furbabies when apart and so we strive to make the transition as smooth as possible to ensure a happy and healthy stay.
Understandably not all pets like to interact with others and so we have designated quiet areas for those who prefer a little peace but we will always ensure our service is suitable before accepting bookings and we never overbook so you can be assured that your pet(s) will always be our priority.
* All visiting dogs must be fully vaccinatated. We strongly recommend the kennel cough innoculation (an annual nasal spray easily obtained from your veterinarian) due to the high prevelance of the disease in the south of England.
Our service -
Darcy had a lovely stay, spoilt rotten. Lots of updates and photos throughout her stay.
I cannot recommend Maureen and Natalie enough. Having returned from 6 nights in France, the dog, cat and fish have been truly spoilt and well cared for. Thank you both. Victoria
