About me:
Taking care of animals has been important to me throughout my life. I feel I can connect with them, and be able to learn and understand their needs. I have a gentle & calm character, allowing animals to take their time to feel comfortable with me. I especially love spending time with dogs and cats, giving them lots of attention, belly rubs, and playtime! Animals bring me joy and keep me active, which is why I have decided to do house-sitting full-time.
My experience:
I grew up with lots of different animals throughout my childhood, and have helped look after pets of friends and family over the years. Although I have many years personal experience with animals, I started house and pet-sitting approx. 10 months ago.
Dogs
In my teens I was able to have a dog who was a miniature wire-hair dachshund. She was my responsibility to walk, feed, and give medication when necessary. I loved taking care of her, particularly going for walks to the beach. I have taken care of friends’ dogs over the years, and recently various breeds of dogs whilst house-sitting. I have taken care of puppies, senior dogs with health conditions, rescue dogs, and dogs with anxiety and behaviour issues. The photos on my profile are just a few of many great experiences I’ve had taking care of dogs!
Cats
My My family adopted a rescue cat (Alfie) while I was at uni. After uni I lived with a friend who had a cat (Will). Over summer and Easter I looked after a friend's cat (Phoebe). Each of these cats had such different characters, and who I looked after in different ways, such as feeding, cuddling, or letting outside.
I also did a house-sit around Easter (recently) for a cat (Megan) who loved lots of attention. She made it clear I had to follow her rules, as cats do, and she pretty much owned me as soon as I arrived!
On other house-sits I have looked after numerous cats and kittens with various characters, which has been so much fun! Take a look at the photos of my feline friends!
Other animals
During my childhood I looked after amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and even insects! On recent house-sits I have looked after a bearded dragon, gecko, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs.
