I have left a career in law to pursue work with dogs as they are my real passion. My family has always owned German Shepherds so I have grown up with caring for and training dogs. Not to mention any opportunity I get to be with animals I take. I have recently started a dog walking service with my best friend for which we have big plans as I find dog behaviour and psychology fascinating and hope to get into the behavioural side of things. If you chose me as a sitter and there was any training or bad habits you are working with your dog on I would be more than happy to spend that time and impart the knowledge and experience I have. From my own experience and books I have read I am a believer that every dog has its own personality and requires tailored care. For me the key things to building any relationship with a dog is trust, consistency, love, patience and FOOD. Over the years I have cared for a number of my family and friends pets and have been recommended by them to others. I would never shy away from even a very challenging dog and believe I have the patience and understanding to deal with all.
One of the benefits of choosing me as a sitter is the fact I am growing a dog walking service. Not only does this mean I’m constantly improving my knowledge of care for dogs but I am used to the responsibility and feel very confident caring for a variety of dogs. If suitable any dogs I am sitting for would be welcome to join the group walks with other great dogs or together we can arrange a plan that suits your dogs needs.
I would always recommend a chat or meet prior to ensure you and your dog are happy with myself. I’m confident in my ability to care for all types of dogs as they are all unique but more importantly it would give you the opportunity to inform me about what your dog will need from me. I would also be willing to offer a free trial walk or meet to owners if that would settle any nerves about compatibility with their dog or assurance if needed.
I would be guided by you, their owner, as to the dogs daily routine as I think we know our own pets best, and also the level of care we want for them. So I would listen to you and keep their routine as normal as possible whilst you are away.
It would be helpful to know:
- Your dogs daily routine.
- Preferences on food, walks, recall ability and toys.
- If your dog has any allergies and medication. As well as emergency contact and vet details.
- If your dog is insured.

Top work from Jamie - great communication and flexible especially over Christmas. Great with the cat, who seemed to love having someone new to feed her!
