I've been fostering romanian rescue dogs for the past 2 years. I've fostered 12 dogs in total, one fater the other, all of them with their little issues, from toilet training to anxiety. I've been able to help them with these issues, and to find each one of them a furever home. I've helped many dogs coming straight from public shelters, so I'm well used to scared dogs.
After a while, I have also started walking my friends' dogs, or taking them on while they pawrents are on holidays! According to the dogs, I walk them together with my foster, or alone, it depends.
I have plenty of toys at home, and like to walk along the and in the parks, depending on the dog's personality and needs. I also do basic training with the dogs I have. I prefer going to the park to let the dog play with other dogs, but of course that depends on each dog!
I love being a dog sitter, because I love dogs, of course, but also because I love walking, and it gives me an excuse to go out, no matter the weather, and get some fresh air, while bringing some needed exercise to the dogs. I've been a dog sitter for about 1.5 years now, and have kept most of the dogs as regulars!
When going out with my dogs, we usually go to Haggerston Park, Londond Fields, or Victoria Park, I always try to change things up a bit so it's not too repetitive, but also I love when my dogs get to meet the same friends that they play nicely with. It's important to have a good group. I also walk some dogs alone if they are nervous or unsure about other dogs.
