About Olive
Dog and cat lover. I have grown up with dogs and cats all my life. In Devon, my mum has two dachshunds and my dad has two jack russels, a black labrador, a labradoodle and two cats. I was born and raised in Exeter, Devon, with an outdoors-based upbringing spending lots of time in nature in the countryside, on the beach, on boats, and playing sports. I am the oldest of six siblings, so I was naturally a nanny from a young age. I studied Politics at Newcastle University before moving to Canada to follow my hobbies of skiing and mountain biking. I moved to Whistler and worked as a children's ski instructor in the winter and as a bike camp coach in the summer for three years. I worked at Whistler's number one babysitting agency for two years and picked up several dog-sitting shifts. I have now recently moved to London where I will be based indefinitely.
The services I provide are dog boarding, doggy day-care, dog walking, one home visit a day, two home visits a day and house sitting. I can also provide pet grooming, vet visits, administer pet medication and some basic training. A typical dog sitting shift would include a meet and greet, a big walk, consistent water service, a photo update sent to the owner, lunch or dinner time followed by some down time (at my house or at the owner's house). If I could just ask for dog leads and poop bags to be provided. If I am dog sitting or house sitting at your house, we would organise a safe system for the keys/security and speak about any jobs you would like me to do in the house (e.g. take out rubbish, clean dirty dishes etc). Of course I will leave the owner's house in the same original clean condition.
I am happy to board up to 4 dogs at a time. My dog walks are usually between 45 mins - an hour and a half. Walks range between 4-10 km depending on preferences. I can offer up to 3 dog walks a day. I do not leave pets alone at all during my dog sitting shifts (unless there is an emergency).
I am super available but would prefer Monday-Friday work but I am open and flexible. I am living at home trying to save money, picking up dog sitting and babysitting shifts when I can (I keep my dog and babysitting shifts separate). Pet care fits into my routine well because I love going on walks and visiting the local parks which I know really well. I am spending time at home applying to career jobs online so I don't need to leave the house for a job therefore I can supervise pets 24/7. Pets can sleep in the warm cosy living room on the big wide sofa.
I live on my own in a ground floor but two-story flat in Islington. It is a spacious, clean and hygienic area. The ground floor means we have the back garden which is a lovely space for pets to be in and go to the toilet easily. It is fully fenced and safe and secure so pets can not escape. To see what my home looks like please see the photos attached in my profile gallery. The general area is safe; no sharp objects or things pets could ingest. I have no pets of my own up here in London so it is just me in the house. We are a 5 minute walk from Clissold Park.
