About Karen

My name is Karen I am a retired nurse and I am a complete animal lover

I own and run Posh Paws home boarding

I am licensed to board dogs with Bradford Council

I live with my husband Andrew and we have 4 of our own dogs, mostly rescues.

We also have 3 cats and two hens.

Our 3 children are grown up so there are just the two of us humans at home.

We live on the outskirts of Keighley, West Yorkshire near to Haworth (Bronte Country) and the Yorkshire Dales

We are fortunate enough to live in a beautiful large detached Victorian home with a large garden that offers space and flexibility for your beloved dog to be cared for in the way that I care for my own pets

I am fully licensed to board dogs in my home and I have indemnity insurance

I have a pet first aid certificate and I am qualified to give dog CPR

I am currently studying to achieve an award in canine health and welfare to enhance my canine skills and knowledge.

Now that I am retired, I have all the time in the world to care for your dog, and you can be assured that he or she will be happy, loved, safe, secure and well cared for by me while you are away from them.

My motivation to look after your dog comes from us having to leave our dogs in kennels in the past and feeling so heartbroken about it...

I am able to look after your dog safely and well in our spacious home with all the home comforts that your dog is used to.

Your dog will be safe, happy, warm and loved in the same way that I love and care for my own dogs

I am fit and healthy and I have energy and time for your dog.

My 4 dogs are used to having dog guests in our home.

All of my dogs are neutered, vaccinated and well socialised.

Our home is large enough to operate a "one way system" for our cats so they don't come into contact with your dog. This is very beneficial if your dog is not used to or keen on cats.

So... what can I offer your dog if you decide to board with us ?

Luxurious accommodation for your dog with access to a beautiful large garden

Regular exercise by way of 2 walks a day and access to our large secure gated and fenced / walled garden for outdoor play.

Canine friends to play and socialise with (my 4 rescue dogs, Benji, Pedro, Daisy and Teddy)

Regular play sessions with your dogs toys and balls plenty of cuddles, love and affection.

Timely meals at your dog's usual meal time and administration of any medicine if required.

A clean safe and warm environment

Space to explore my home

A cosy dog bed to sleep in is provided, or feel free to bring your own dog's bed.

Daily photos and updates of your dog sent to your phone to let you know how he or she is getting on while you are away

I look forward to you being in touch about your dog boarding with us. I aim to be able to accommodate all of your dog's needs.

I welcome and encourage you to visit my home before your dog stays and boards with us.

Please note that your dog must be fully vaccinated, wormed and flea'd to ensure everyone's safety.

I only board neutered dogs, unless your dog is a puppy or a bitch who hasn't had her first season.
