I have 3 dogs that were looked after by Francine for 3 weeks in 2018, both my husband I think our dogs were disappointed to see us return
My husband Simon and I have lived in St. Lucia for the last 11 years. We come back to England during the summer months to see our family and for Simon to watch and play cricket Our dogs and cats are left in St. Lucia with a house sitter. We miss our four legged family and think caring for other animals while here will help fill this hole. I spend most of my time in St. Lucia volunteering for the animal charity, fostering many puppies and dogs. Simon helps out by making kennels and assisting with our fundraising events. He's a keen gardener and we enjoy walking our dogs daily around the countryside areas and beaches.
I think I have gained masses of experience during my 10 years of volunteering for St Lucia Animal Protection Society. Caring and bottle feeding puppies from 4 days old, picking up strays to be spayed and rescuing injured dogs. We have many visitors to the island that ask for help in taking a stray home with them. Due to regulations or the health of the animal some aren't able to travel with their new owners. We foster these until they are able to go, taking them to the airport and putting them on the plane so they can at last start their new life with a loving family.
Over the past 5 years we have house swapped in many countries, we are very respectful of people's houses, as we hope they are of ours. Returning to some quite a few times. We have also had the pleasure of caring for pets in some of these swaps.
