Hi! My name is Beth and I'm a full-time university student taking on dog walking as a way to both make some extra money to support my studies and as an avenue to grow my experience working with dogs.

I offer both 30 minute and 60 minute walks (depending on how much exercise your dog needs!). My pricing is: £7 for 30 minutes, £14 for 60 minutes, and an extra charge of £5 per additional dog if you have multiple dogs that you need walked at the same time. I'm available at pretty much any time of day.

I have had a few family dogs throughout my childhood, so my experience with dogs and dog walking is extensive. The types of breeds my family has owned/currently owns (Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever and White West Highland Terrier) are varied in size and temperament, so I feel confident with small dogs and large dogs (and all those in the middle!). I have also undertaken some basic trick training with our Labrador over the past couple of years, through which I've had the chance to broaden my knowledge of dog training techniques and dog behaviour.

My love for dogs does not end with my own personal family dogs, however! I have spent time volunteering weekly at an ex-racing greyhound rescue kennel, helping to exercise the dogs while they waited to be adopted. During a morning of volunteering, the dogs I get the chance to walk are always incredibly varied in many ways - age, size, personality, as well as how easy or challenging they were to walk (some were very docile, others were more headstrong and had a greater chase instinct so required more attention when walking).

As a result of this, I feel comfortable walking dogs that may be considered more 'difficult'. I also have a rather in-depth knowledge specifically of greyhounds and similar breeds (I also have a big soft spot for them!).

My main motivation to start offering dog walking services on Pawshake is to offer dog owners the chance to give their dog an active, enriching, and healthy lifestyle, even if their own schedule prevents them from always being able to offer that themselves! I'm also the biggest dog lover (and animal lover in general) at my core, and I want to be able to keep dogs in my day-to-day life while I study at university as I find that they are often the best therapy for the mind and the body.
