Hello, I am a new arrival in the United Kingdom. I have just started a job as a professor at the school of computing in the University of Leeds. Outside of work, my interests include travel and music: I played in orchestras for a long time, but these days most of my music-making involves the guitar, which I have been playing for about five years.

Previously I lived in Wellington, New Zealand. My pet there was a 17-year-old cat named Wibbly. Wibbly moved in with me when a family friend was no longer able to look after him. He required medication every day for his hyperthyrodism and also needed a strict diet of renal-care food so I am accustomed to high-maintenance animals.

I am trying to get to know the city of Leeds, my new home, and I miss the company of cats! So if I can explore some neighbourhoods while looking after pets, that would be all the better. I am interested in house-sitting for medium or long periods. I have experience with cats, but I also am very comfortable with dogs. I am neat and keep a tidy house. I feel that I can get on well with any pet, even if that means leaving them alone and respecting their space.
