Hello pet owners - I'm a 26-year-old big animal lover currently living in Lightwater. I absolutely love animals, having had various cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, lizards and hamsters in the past.
I love exploring new places but feel everywhere is best discovered with an animal by your side. I am able to provide a range of services, whether that’s popping in to have a cuddle with your cat or taking your dog on a hike. I work as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS with older adults (and am therefore fully DBS checked so you know I am reliable & trustworthy).
Home visits: When visiting your pet to give it some fresh food & water, clean out any litter trays and most importantly a cuddle, I usually spend about half an hour to an hour with them. Social interaction is as important as any other need to ensure your pet doesn't get lonely.
Dog walks: Length of dog walks can vary depending on location. I live near Lightwater Park so can easily spend a few hours exploring there. I am happy to tailor the walk to the need of your pet, i.e. shorter routes for older and lazier dogs!
House sitting: When house sitting I will spend most of the day with your pet to ensure all its needs are met.
I will sleepover and keep them company at night. I currently own a tabby cat called Bella who was rescued from Battersea. In the past, I have also volunteered from time to time at the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary which I really enjoyed. I know how important it is for pet owners leaving their pets to be able to actually enjoy their time away without having to worry, which is what I aim to achieve through excellent communication to ensure owners are kept up to date as much or as little as needed. If desired I am happy to send daily photo updates of your pets. I am super flexible and happy to work around your pets' needs. I also have access to a car.
Please feel free to send me any questions :)
If you're thinking of sending your cat to a cattery, think again. Hire Catherine! She was absolutely lovely - a great communicator with real love for cats and animals. Floki is normally scared and timid around newcomers but he became a Catherine-convert in under 5 minutes during her meet and greet visit with him. While we were away, Catherine replied to messages promptly and we were ecstatic to see a picture of Floki the moment my phone reconnected to the internet after our flight. We will stay with Catherine through-and-through as long as she'll have us. Floki was happy and super soft when we came back home and he's a real "people's cat" - which Catherine really catered for. On an end note, Floki is a three-legged cat and Catherine was amazing at supporting him and working with that extra need of his. Recommended!
Catherine, what a star! From the moment we met her she was excellent , friendly and competent. She quickly made friends with our cat Larry and petted him and looked after him so well whilst we were away. Catherine sent us regular updates and photos at appropriate times and even informed us about some minor damage to outside furniture caused by a wlld animal . She let us know this in such a way as to not cause us worry but be reassured that our cat was safe. On our return from holiday Larry was so laid back I dont think he missed us at all thanks to Catherines' ministrations! This is the first time we have used an agency for cat sitting. Thank you Pawshake and Thank you so much Catherine.
