Hi, I'm Charlie. I'm a 23 year old fashion marketing graduate from Peckham.
The area I live in is right next to Peckham Rye, so perfect for walks and there are lots of other dogs about. There is also a gated park which allows dogs to be let off leads if they prefer to have a run about but aren't too confident with recall. I also have a small fenced back garden in my home where any smaller pets are welcome to roam around at ease. I study at University twice a week and intern for a magazine from home. This leaves me with some spare time to kill and I'd love to have a pet to share this time with. I think it would really help me to destress and relax.I decided to join pawshake I'm what my friends would call dog obsessed, I stop for just about every dog in the street.
I adore animals and have a lot of experience in animal husbandry having done work experience at a few zoos including Noah's Ark in Bristol and ZSL London Zoo. I have lended a hand at a few rehoming shelters but I volunteer at battersea dogs home once a week for a year, so I have a lot of experience with different breed of dogs as well as difficult or nervous dogs. I have 2 dogs (chocolate lab and a staffy) and a cat (bengal mix) of my own but they live with my parents. Our staffy is a rescue so I have experience with dogs that have an unknown history. I also used to have horses but sadly had to stop riding due to moving to London. However, I am experienced in grooming, mucking out and all other relevant areas of equine husbandry. When I was younger I also had pets such as hamsters and goldfish so I am familiar with the cleaning out process that comes with these smaller creatures. It would be nice to have a furry companion in London as sadly I don't get home enough to see mine!
I think that this would be a brilliant opportunity to meet some new people and give a helping hand! I'd be happy to pet sit, walk, groom and exercise or even just stay in doors for some cuddles! Walks can last anywhere between 30 minute and over an hour and I'm happy to pet sit your animal at either your home or mine for the whole day if it is needed. I will spend however long you feel is necessary with your pet during a home visit and am happy to visit more than once a day providing that the address isn't too far. I would say that I'm a kind and caring person who will treat your pets like gold!
Please let me know if you have any questions as I'd be more than happy to help :)
Charlie did an amazing job of caring for Ziggy when we went away for the weekend. I received regular photo and text updates and we came home to a very content kitty! Charlie did a meet up beforehand and I instantly felt she was a very trustworthy and caring person. I felt at ease the whole time and I highly recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter. Thank you Charlie and we will certainly ask for your help again in the future! Amy
Charlie has been amazing. She was so communicative, helpful and the cats loved her! They’ve never been as chilled while we’ve been away as they have with her. Massive thanks Charlie!
I studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare for one year at the University of Bristol, but sadly did not complete my degree.
