Hi, I'm Charlie. I'm a 28 year old media planner living in Catford with my fiancé. I currently WFH other than on Wednesdays when I'm in the office. I also have two cats in my household but they have lived with a dog before and often keep to themselves when I have canine visitors.
Dogs:
The area I live in is right next to a variety of parks, so perfect for walks and there are lots of other dogs about. I also have a large fenced back garden in my home where your pets are welcome to roam around at ease. I decided to join Pawshake as I'm what my friends would call dog obsessed, I stop for just about every dog in the street. My parents have 4 dogs - an elderly chocolate lab, a staffy, a springer cross and a Jack Russell cross. Their staffy is a rescue so I have experience with dogs that have an unknown history. Happy to take your dog for a walk or just sit at home and have a cuddle. Will feed them and make sure they’ve got everything they need when you’re out. As I have cats in my household I would only be able to take on one dog at a time that is sensible with cats.
Cats:
I have had many cats throughout my life. I re-homed 2 cats of my own in 2019, both male and female. I’m also rather cat obsessed so I can assure you that your kitty will be in great hands if you choose me as your sitter. I have looked after many cats in my neighbourhood over the past couple of years and built up a great rapport with people who I continue to cat sit for when needed. Happy to drop in on your cat and feed them, change their litter and give them a fuss whilst you’re away. Unfortunately I won't be able to do overnight stays as I need to be around for my own fur babies.
Experience:
I’ve got a lot of experience in animal husbandry, having done work experience at a few zoos in my teens. I have also lent a helping hand at a few rehoming shelters and I volunteered at battersea dogs home, so I have a lot of experience with different breeds of dogs as well as difficult or nervous dogs. I am also able to administer medication in pill or liquid form.
I am just generally a massive animal lover and joining Pawshake has been a fantastic way to meet some new people and their furry friends and offer a helping hand.
I'd be happy to pet sit, walk, groom and exercise or even just stay in doors for some cuddles! Walks can last anywhere between 30 minute and an hour and I'm happy to pet sit your animal at your home for the whole day if needed, providing there is space for me to work. I will spend however long you feel is necessary with your pet during a home visit and am happy to visit more than once a day providing that the address isn't too far. I have my own car so do let me know if you have parking near you. I would say that I'm a kind and caring person who will treat your pets like gold.
Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to send me a message as I'd be more than happy to help if I have the availability!

It was great to have Charlie looking after my two cats while I was away for a couple weeks. She was friendly and sent me updates most days. Everything was well taken care of when I got back and the kitties were happy!
Charlie looked after our puppy for the day. She kept us up to date with photos of how she was getting on throughout the day. Charlie has a nice big garden which I'm sure our pup enjoyed running around in.
I studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare for one year at the University of Bristol, but sadly did not complete my degree.
