Mariah

Hello! My name is Mariah. Me and my friend/flatmate Amanda are Brazilian students living in London. I have been here for 5 years now, Amanda for only a year. I graduated from Goldsmiths College and have an MSc in Marketing Psychology from Regent’s University, I also work from home for a luxury fashion brand; while Amanda studies Criminology at Middlesex.

We have both always lived with animals since we were little. Back home my family had a farm so I have been around chicken, horses and dogs since I can remember, I have had three dogs and one bird while living in Sao Paulo. While Amanda has lived with both dogs and cats.

Since moving to London, neither of us have had much contact with pets, as most of our fellow student friends are not pet owners. We had plans to adopt two kittens when we moved in together, since we live in an apartment big anough for pets. However, we decided not to solely because there's a chance we won't be living in London soon, and it would be best to adopt a pet only when we know we can give them a stable, forever home.

Nevertheless we both miss having and being around pets immensely, so Pawshake appeared as a miracle! A friend of ours has been a petsitter for a year now and he only had nice things to say about it, so we though we'd give it a try!
