Although I have been pet sitting from a very young age, I have been doing so in a professional capacity now for almost 10 years.
Having grown up within a farming community and being around animals on a daily basis, I was bottle feeding lambs and collecting up chickens’ eggs as a toddler.
I was given my first dog at aged 5 and have a been a pet owner ever since.
I have a passion for all animals and was once told by an experienced vet that I was an “natural stockman”, which is probably the nicest compliment I have ever received.
I offer overnight pet sits within client’s homes and this can range from one night, to a couple of weeks.
I feel it is important when owners are away to keep the animals in their own home, so they are kept within a familiar environment and are relaxed in their own surroundings.
I work a lot with rescue animals, when I believe this is a particularly important aspect of animal care, if owners are away.
My stay basically involves moving into the client’s home and “being them” for the time they are away – adhering to feeding and walking routines, again important in keeping the pet settled.
I have many established clients and am always happy to just “pop in” if they are kept (for example) late at an appointment, to ensure that the pet is comfortable and has company until they return.
Again, this can range from just a 30-minute feed/cuddle visit, to several hours, depending on the client’s requirement.
I look forward to meeting you.
