Hello! I'm Jessica, I'm a freelance question writer for quiz shows (which means I get to be curious for a living) and flexibility as to where I work. I'm based in Marlow, with good connections across the South of England and a base in the North too, so I'm well placed to sit across the UK... potentially Europe if the right opportunity comes up!

Outside of work I love being outdoors, reading, and anything in the arts and culture world. I'm someone who's very happy in my own company, and I find the companionship of animals very soothing.

Animals have always been part of my life; my grandparents always had dogs, and over the years I've become the person friends and family call when they need someone to look after theirs. It's something I really look forward to rather than just help out with.

Housesitting feels like a natural fit for my lifestyle because I work remotely and I'm very happy in my own company, so the idea of setting up somewhere with a pet for company is very appealing rather than just convenient. I'm happy to take my cues from your pets, whether they need long walks, lazy afternoons on the sofa, or just remaining nearby.

I'm a respectful and tidy guest, and I take looking after someone's home as seriously as I take looking after their pets. I'm open to stays of all lengths and locations and I'm just as happy somewhere quiet and rural as I am in a city, perfectly content to be in the house, pottering about and keeping your pet company if that's what you're looking for.

My experience is primarily with dogs, having looked after pets for friends and family over many years. I've spent time with a range of breeds including yorkshire terriers, dachshunds, bichon frises, corgis and king charles spaniels, so I'm comfortable with smaller and more sensitive breeds and understand that they each have their own personalities and needs. I've also looked after a wonderful cat called Rowan, who I'd met for the first time when I took care of him.

Beyond pets, I'm a capable and considerate house guest. I'm a good cook and am more than happy to keep on top of any plants! I have allotment experience, so a garden is never a problem.
