*I have experience with cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds and fish. As well as feedings and litter box scooping/changes I can do cage cleaning and changing for rodents and supervise exercise time for hamsters if required, and I can hand-feed your fish and dechlorinate water if your fish tank needs a partial water change while you're away. In summer months I can keep your tank temperature down if needed.

I'm Sorcha, I'm 31 and I'm a University of Liverpool student. I would really love to get into pet sitting professionally because I love animals and I really miss my own now that I'm away from home to study. I've had family cats since I was 11 years old and have had my own cats as an adult now for nearly a decade. I've raised cats from kittenhood with a range of personalities; my cat Jacob is incredibly skittish when he meets new people or encounters new situations, but absolutely melts into the most loving, clingy and adorable boy once he is reassured that he can trust someone. I have always been the one person he knows he can trust no matter what is happening around him. His brother, Percy, was much more outgoing from their infancy, and was the one who decided everything the two of them would do together. Unfortunately, he's no longer with us, but Jacob hasn't lacked for love and attention from his human companions since Percy's passing and has in fact become more appreciative of human attention. Another of my cats, Lila, was a lost kitten I found on the street in the middle of the night. She was crying out and injured and I opened the front door to call her; she was treated by a vet and I intended just to keep her until her owners were found but found out from my neighbours that she had been abandoned by people who'd moved out and left her. She was too young even to be left outside at that stage and became extremely attached to me immediately and despite already having two cats I opted to keep her as she seemed to have decided for herself that I was her person now. Mingus is the latest addition to my family despite his being older than Lila as my partner already had him before we met. Though standoffish at first, and certainly a bit competitive with Percy, who was the largest cat of my three, Mingus quickly took to Lila (at her insistence) and now they have an adorable boyfriend-girlfriend dynamic going on. I know I've gone off on a bit of a tangent here but I wanted to get across how absolutely passionate I am about cats and how much I can appreciate they have different personalities and temperaments. Jacob is overweight himself (god knows why - he's been checked out by the vet, he just seems naturally podgy, but he's still comfortable and happy) so I have experience with special diets and I never get bored of playing with felines if they're in the mood for it. I'm confident I could take great care of your kitties during your holidays and I'm responsible in general, plus responsive as my phone is always on and I always have a charger on me. I'll visit your pets once a day or twice, whichever you choose, and send you photos and videos of them to keep you in the loop.
