One experience that deeply inspired me was helping an elderly lady with her cat who had kidney issues. The cat needed daily subcutaneous fluids, but due to her vision problems, the owner couldn’t manage it herself. Over the Christmas and New Year period, I visited her home every day to provide the care her cat needed. I also spent time comforting and playing with the cat, and I sent daily updates with photos to her daughter, who was away. Hearing the owner say, “I don’t know what I would’ve done without you,” touched me deeply and gave me a real sense of purpose in what I do.
