About Kat
Hi my name is Kat and I have always had a love for animals of all shapes and sizes, I have lots of pets of my own including, two cats, two hamsters, two rats, a rabbit, leopard gecko and bearded dragon.
I studied animal management for 3 years and have my level 2 and 3, during my time studying I did work experience on a farm so I have experience working with animals ranging from very small to very big. Along with farm experience I also volunteered at a cattery for 4 years where I learned how to administer medication such as dewormer and flea treatments, I also learned about weighting the cats and what a healthy weight is for different breeds.
I have first aid training that I learned at St John's ambulance cadets and learned how to preform animal first aid during my studies.
I have my drivers license and a car with a big boot and am can take an animal where they need to go in the case of an emergency.
Currently I am only offering walks and home visits but hopefully eventually I can expand my services.
During the walks I would like to take different routes each time to keep the dogs minds more curious and engaged unless I am asked to take them on a specific route, I love animal photography (not that I'm very good at it) and will get lots of photos of your furry friends during walks.
During home visits I will spend at least an hour with your pets, preferably longer. I will start off by feeding them, I am happy to feed them whatever you'd like and can make more complex meals for your furry friends if that is what their diet consists of. I will let dogs out to use the toilet and have a run around if you have a garden and then pick up after them when they're finished. The rest of my time during the visit will likely be spent playing or chilling out, whatever your dog would like.
For a visit where I'm looking after a cat I would like to request that the cat stays indoors the whole time so I can make sure they are safe under my supervision, I understand that this could cause some boredom so I will take measures to make sure they have plenty to keep their minds stimulated. I will start the visit by feeding them and changing their water and then go and spot clean their litter tray. If you have a cat that prefers to hide away from people they may not know the most then I will respect that and not try to force them to be near me. If your cat is quite social I will happily spend plenty of time playing with them and keeping their minds active.
While I don't have my own dogs at the moment, I did grow up with them and love them to pieces. During my time with your animals I will do my very best to make sure they enjoy their time with me.
At the moment I work on average of 4 days a week at my job and would like to use my days off to work with animals, once I get into a good routine then I would really like to start doing walks in the mornings before I go to work if my schedule allows for it.
I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about my services, while I may not be able to respond immediately I will do my best to answer any questions you have as soon as I see them.
