I am a DPhil student studying Interdisciplinary Bioscience at the University of Oxford. I am new to Oxford this year, and have settled in well. I will be here at least until late 2020 and would like animals to become a larger part of my life. Last summer I volunteered with a Mammal Team in Peru, collecting data on the location and behaviour of mammals, predominantly primates, as part of a large conservation effort in the Amazon. In related conservation work, I have also
volunteered with animals in South Africa where I monitored the movement and behaviour of wild dogs. About me as a person, I would describe myself as quiet, reliable, trustworthy and independent. I enjoy being outdoors, particularly hiking and camping in the countryside.
I have grown up with several dogs in my family (belonging to my grandparents, aunts and uncles). They have varied in sizes between westies and golden retrievers. My family had a cat, Jack, which I was partly responsible for looking after, with jobs including feeding, cleaning the litter tray and helping with medicines. I have also owned a guinea pig, Ruffles, which I used to be fully responsible for, in addition to helping out with the family hamsters.
I love being around animals and enjoy looking after them, therefore as a pet sitter and dog walker I strive to give the animal lots of attention and aim to learn about each animal as an individual. I am currently doing some dog walking in Oxford and would like to do more, with walks tailored to the dog's needs. I would also like to provide company to animals by looking after them in the owner's homes, where they are comfortable with the surroundings. I look forward to hearing from you and am keen to tailor my services to your needs.

Heather, is a really nice person, her communication was absolutely superb, which is really important. I think she needs, very clear instructions on what your pets, needs are, and was extremely accommodating.
I would consider asking her again.
Thank you Heather, for looking afterr Fred.
Heather was great looking after our hamsters and chickens, very conscientious and helpful. Well recommended.
In the past I volunteered at PAWS, an animal sanctuary in Findon, where I helped out with the guinea pigs, rabbits, parrot, dogs and horses. This involved feeding them, cleaning their hutches/cages and giving them attention, in addition to walking the dogs.
