I graduated in Animal Behaviour and Welfare in 2017 and have been living in Oxford since. I have a car so I can drive to and from houses to house/pet sit/visit and take dogs for walks. I cannot lift large/heavy dogs.
From a young age I've had an interest in animals, something which has developed throughout my teenage years and into adulthood. I have experience working with a wide range of animals in a professional capacity including; domestics and farm (dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses), and exotics (various reptiles, amphibians, birds, small mammals, hoof-stock and large carnivores) from volunteering at Dartmoor Zoological Park for a year and a half. I also volunteered at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital as a rescuer as well as on site administering medication to incoming patients for a similar length of time.
I began pet sitting and dog walking in spring 2018, and have been learning and building my experience ever since. Every day is different and there's always something new to learn! I learnt the basic theories behind animal training at university, so I am able to continue a dog's training whilst out on walks and can sometimes offer hints and tips. I am in the process of undergoing various dog training courses in order to expand on this knowledge and ultimately become a dog trainer and/or behaviourist.
I offer general pet sitting, pet care (dog/cat/reptile/rodent/amphibian/bird/equine), and dog walking. I am unable to have pets at my home, but I am happy to pet sit in your home, visit your pet to feed/clean/etc., take your pet for walks, or simply keep them company!
Dog walks: Group walks run approximately 11am-3pm on weekdays, solo walks and house visits outside of these times.
House/pet sits: I tend to prefer jobs in Oxford area, but I am willing to make exceptions depending on the details so always worth checking! Due to my walking schedule (see above), house/pet sits that fall on weekdays must either be for; animals that are okay with being left alone for extended periods, or dogs that are friendly with others and can join on my group walks to break up their day. Weekend house/pet sits are much more flexible as I don't tend to have many other jobs then, but I do tend to only work two weekends per month. It is worth noting that as a general rule, I don't do house/pet sits that are longer than two weeks.
Prices are set taking into account the fee that Pawshake take for advertising and insurance purposes. Depending on what you're after/length of visit, I may ask you to book a different service to reflect suitable price for time taken.
