A Safe, Loving Home While You’re Away

About Jessica
Going on holiday, a weekend trip, or need someone reliable to look after your dog while you’re not at home? We know how important it is to leave your pet with people you can trust. We’ve had dogs for most of our lives and, over the 18 years we’ve been together, we’ve owned our own dogs, fostered dogs, and regularly looked after dogs for family and friends.
Our much-loved bulldog passed away in 2025 and we miss having little paws around the house which is why we’ve decided to open our doors to care for other people’s pets while they’re away. Your dog would be treated as part of the family, with lots of love, attention and company.
We only take one client’s dog at a time so they get our full care and aren’t overwhelmed. We have a good-sized, fully secure garden that backs onto woodland, and there are plenty of great walks nearby, including a 2.3 mile footpath to Avenham Park with no roads, which is ideal for dogs.
I am at home four days a week. On the other three days, I work nearby from 9–5, so I’m close and able to come home if needed. We also use a puppy cam to check in throughout the day. This setup allows us to provide regular care and supervision.
Pets in our home are treated as part of the family. We have a spacious, fully fenced and secure garden that backs onto woodland. Inside, pets have full access to our home and are welcome to relax with us, including cuddles on the sofa. At bedtime, they are welcome to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. Our kitchen has plenty of space for a dog bed or crate if that’s what your dog is used to.
We love spending time outdoors, so pets often join me in the garden while I’m gardening or looking after our chickens. It’s nice to have dogs nearby for company, whether they’re pottering around, relaxing in the sun, or just keeping me company.
We’re very lucky to have some lovely walks close to home. There’s woodland directly behind the house, and the Old Tram Road is a favourite — it’s a flat, peaceful footpath that leads straight into Avenham Park. Along the way there are ponds and small streams, which are great for dogs who enjoy a paddle.
At weekends, and if you’re comfortable with it, we’re also happy to take dogs out by car to explore different walks and enjoy a change of scenery.
Please let me know anything important about your dog ahead of time, including any health or behavioural considerations. For example, how they are with other dogs, any skin conditions, allergies, or medication they may need. This helps me make sure they’re comfortable and avoid any potential issues.
It’s also helpful to know that your dog is able to settle at night in a home environment, as this helps everyone have a relaxed and happy stay. If you have any questions or want to know more, please feel free to get in touch, we’d be happy to chat.
