Hello, my name is Claire, I am 25 years old and I am a registered veterinary nurse!
I have decided to pet sit as a lot of clients approach me as they need their pets medicated and are unable to find anyone to do this. I naturally care about animals and with my diploma and experience I know exactly how to care for patients. Admittedly I can't help myself but to examine every pet and keep an eye for any issues! I enjoy spending time with animals at work and it would nice to spend time with them in a less clinical environment.
I spend at least 30 minutes with your pet on my visits. As well as the basics of changing your pets food and water and possibly litter tray, I do like to spend time getting to know them. I like to do little extra bits to earn your pets trust, which can take to some time. I do this by playing, grooming, cleaning, basic training, socialising and cuddling of course. If your pet is very nervous or doesn't like strangers for example, I do not push the boundaries, I wait for them to initiate any contact. If you have any worries or concerns please contact me. I aim to offer gold standard care for all animals, whatever age or species. But with my diploma I am also able to medicate and cater for pets with extra needs.
A little bit about me, I live in central Reading and work in Wokingham full time as a veterinary nurse. I have a cat called Louie, a dog called Horatio and a tortoise called Dee Dee. I have been nursing full time for 5 years, but spent many years volunteering before this. I have been a Guide and Brownie leader for many years, which I enjoy.
Claire was brilliant with our cat who took to her straight away. She responded immediately to any communication and sent lots of updates. I have no reservations in recommending Claire to others seeking a pet sitter.
This is the first time we'd left our cat to go away and so we were a little worried, however Claire was amazing & Belle seemed very calm when we got home and had eaten well, so we know she was well cared for. Claire did everything we asked & sent photos of Belle and our guinea pig. I would 100% recommend her and we will definitely have no hesitation about asking her to look after our animals again. Thank you so much Claire:)
I have undertaken the City and Guilds Diploma in Veterinary nursing.
I have been DBS checked for Brownies and Guides
