I am a third year psychology student and I am looking to go into animal behaviour and comparative psychology that deals with lookng at animal behaviour in order to help understand humans better - later once I finished my studies.
I am definitley the kind of person who is more motivated to go somewhere if I know there's going to be pets there. I am the proud mama of my own kitten, who is around seven and listens to Twinkle when she deems it fit. I build rapport with humans just as quickly as I do with pets - due to having worked in customer service and doing what I'm doing for my degree both handling human and animal communication is kind of an affinity of mine.
I believe pet sitting is becoming more and more important as our pets are absolutely members of thefamily and one wants the best treatment for them even if one cannot be thereto provide it every second of the day. I would love to help out with entertaining some pooches and felines and take the burden of worry off your shoulders by helping out with being with them when you can't be.
I like to build a trusting relationship with the owners firsthand to know that i will not do anything that they wouldn't and I like to establish the rules they also enforce regarding their pets - if there's no going on the couch, there is no going on the couch. This way the owners can be absolutely reassured that I am in no way spoiling their pooches more than they would! :)
I have helped out at a shelter for two years were I learned to care for animals that have been neglected, abused or just overlooked and hungry for love and attention who can be labelled as 'problematic' out of the sheer eagerness of their desire to connect with someone who would provide them a forever home. I know they can be difficult but the work put into them comes back tenfold and no one will love you more than they do.
Depending on your needs I will care for your pet to my best abilities. We will go on adventures and have fun but i will respect their boundaries and yours as well. I am more than happy to take them on long walks and get them as tired as they get so they could get back to being the erfect pet for you once you arrive home from work. Alternatively I am more than happy to cuddle them and chill if that is what is required.
I have so far looked after, labradors of differring ages 4months-15 years, two rowdy golden retrievers ages 2 and 9, as well as the most energetic chocolate border collie of 4 years. Felines I have met a tiny british shorthaired who we got along very nicely.
Most of my pictures are of me stroking random animals on my holiday or just on the street in Southend and wherever I go...Because that is who I am as a person. The other day there was a huskey in front of Lidl and I went back to stroke it twice. Gorgeous boy, with heterochromia. I had anotherencounter while waiting for my boyfriend to arrive at the station. Met an old huskey girl called Pasha and his lovely owner. I make all kinds of furry friends on my adventures and honestly, I'd love for your furry friend to join in on the fun!
We can’t recommend Maura enough. We were worried about leaving our cat for the first time since the death of her mum. But Maura understood and took extra time and care in checking in on our cat and regularly sending us video and photos. We will definitely be contact Maura next time we go away.

I am familiar with clicker training as well as some basic techniques in correcting behavioural issues such as establishing hierarchy.
I have helped out at a shelter for over two years. This involved cleaning kennels, feeding puppies, walking fellow dogs and general duties involving hygiene and diet.
I am doing a degree in psychology with a special interest in animal behaviour and animal psychology and it's therapeutic uses for humans - physiology & psyche all the same.
