Hi there, I'm Rachael.
Labradors are my love, all of my life. Having been a single Mum to now grown up children, (& labradors, cats, bunnies & hens,) & recently retired from my holiday home management business, I'm now renovating a little Sussex Victorian cottage. In the past three years I have looked after the homes & pets of friends & recently joined Pawshake to explore house sitting & pet care in a more professional capacity.
It's been busy & I so enjoy my work. I'm a practical kind of girl, happiest in wellies & pottering in the garden. I am experienced with labradors, including shy & nervous ones, working dogs, puppies & rescues (having cared for many from Labrador Rescue.) I offer my services for day care and home visits at yours or by staying in your home, where I believe your pets are happiest when you are away. I'd be pleased to look after other gentle breeds, your other small animals, hens, bunnies and your plants too.
I'd usually like to bring along my own black labrador, Lottie, who is 9, well mannered & friendly with other dogs (& cats, bunnies & hens too) & we would of course treat your home responsibly, securely and with respect, leaving it very clean & tidy. My fees reflect my experience, commitment & responsibilities & I won't be heading out doing other work whilst staying at yours. Rachael did a wonderful job. The new house sitters say that the house was like a new pin when they arrived and had an excellent handover from Rachael. She sent regular pictures of the dogs playing and even took one to a vet as we instructed. So we cannot fault her.
Another happy visit from Rachael, my dogs were delighted to see her again after a three month absence. I go away knowing the dogs will be superbly cared for and my house is just as I left it and a warm welcome home too.
