About Steph
Hi, I am Steph and I am a friendly, reliable and passionate animal lover and a Fur Mum of 5. Born and raised with dogs, primarily Newfoundlands and Bernese Mountain Dogs for most of my childhood, I've learnt training techniques from puppy to adult - even picked up some tips and tricks when we regularly attended land and water training for the Newfs! I'm no stranger to other breeds having also had and been around Collies, Jack Russells, Labradors, Frenchies and Cockapoos - often helped walk them too.
Having grown up with dogs, it wasn't until I met my partner that I had to overcome my phobia of cats and now have 5 of my own, volunteer at a local animal shelter and am continuously studying Animal Care courses to expand my knowledge further. I'm happy to engage with all breeds of cat and have vast experience in Bengals which when looking for pet sitters myself, was something I struggled to find as they require alot of attention and energy.
Whilst I do not have kids of my own, my children are my pets. They are just as messy and talkative with the attitude to boot but they are are all loving and affectionate and benefit from clicker training and enrichment just like going to school.
I'm a strong believer in helping those in need and through my volunteer work (along with helping friends and family), every species deserves a quality of life be it a walk, a cuddle, a brush, a companion, some food or even a home. I'm a patient individual, with a calm and caring nature and approach each cat or dog as their own being, learning from them on what they deem acceptable before starting to bond. There is something special about establishing a bond in the right way and it is so rewarding once I've cracked it. I am able to take on dog walking, cat/dog house visits/sits in your home and some desensitisation if so required for the more scared or timid that just need some time to come out of their shell. I will even feed fish and check hedgehog stations if needed. For your peace of mind, I am DBS checked, pet first aid qualified and fully insured and will show copies of these at the meet and greet.
Meet and greets are essential prior to any booking so that you can put name to face, ask any questions and details required for your fur babies and see how they react with me so you can feel comfortable with them in my care. I will treat any pet as my own fur child and as no two are the same each experience will be tailored to you and yours so please feel free to get in touch.
Services offered as a base line (tailored to each client and their needs):
- Meet & Greet prior to every booking, happy to have a couple if needed
- Dog Walking 30-60mins - must be lead and recall trained for their safety
- House Visits 30-60mins minimum, once or twice per day
- House Sits (Sleepover) - care of your fur ones in their own homes while you are away
Any questions please ask and i'll be happy to help
