About Grace

Hello! Thanks for visiting our profile. We are Grace and Rhodri, and we’re experienced and trusted pet and home sitters.

Our experience is in taking care of:

- Dogs, (young, old & nervous)

- Cats & kittens (including new borns)

- Chickens

- Small animals such as Fish Parrots, Guinea Pigs, Bearded Dragons & Rabbits

- House plants, gardens & veggie patches

We are full time house & pet sitters, and every animal we take care of is respected, loved and protected as if they were our own. Their safety and well being is of the utmost importance to us.

The majority of our experience is with dogs, covering different breeds, rescues, age ranges, personalities and characteristics, which has given us a good grasp of canine behaviour, but we welcome any requests with any type of animal. We are responsible, easy going and caring people, and we are very grateful to spend our time doing something we enjoy, it’s a pleasure to love and care for the animals we meet. You can rest assured that your pet will get everything it needs in our care.

Happy to feed, walk, bathe, groom, administer medication, love and snuggle your pets in a tailored, caring way to ensure their wellbeing is tip-top, as if you’d never even left.

We have some experience in raising and training puppies (age 4months - 9months), but also have encountered some grumpy old souls that needed specific care and attention. We are patient, diligent and can be strict if your pet requires firm boundaries. We are flexible and adaptable to your needs regarding both your pet and home. You are welcome to leave us a list of instructions, including the watering of various plants around your house and garden.

Before our confirmed sitting we like to organise a ‘Meet and Greet’ to introduce ourselves to your pet whilst in your company, for them to become acquainted with their new carers. Consequently when the planned sit comes around they feel relaxed and at ease in our company. In the past we have received last minute requests leaving no time for a prearranged meet up, in this case, we usually have a video call & have a detailed chat explaining their behaviours and everything has been fine. If you have a particularly anxious pet, (dogs specifically) we are happy to plan in extra dates for us to come along and get to know them - in the past previous clients have booked walks with or just paid us to spend time with them. We don’t ever charge our clients for the initial meet and greet.

Something our clients really appreciate is how flexible we can be to accommodate your pet’s routine as neither of us work full time, instead we have our own projects that we manage online. This means we can be adaptable to your pet’s daily activity. Let us know how much exercise and stimulation they need each day and we’ll see to it that they’re pooped by the evening and ready to snuggle. We thoroughly enjoy getting out and about for fresh air daily for our own fitness, so for us dog walking is a perfect tonic. We both love walking in all sorts of weather and terrains, so if your dog is happy getting wet, we’ll take them out come rain or shine.

A little bit about ourselves.. you can probably tell from our photos that we are clearly dog & cat enthusiasts, although our love of travel means we’re unable to adopt our very own fur baby. We occasionally dream into the future and imagine a place to ‘settle down’ and form our very own crew of critters; including dogs, cats & chickens.

We spent two years in Sri Lanka during the pandemic & found ourselves stranded in the tropics looking after various troops of pooches and pussy cats and being welcomed in some beautiful homes. Living amongst the coconut plantations we found ourselves taking care of (& falling in love with) the most charismatic dogs whilst becoming friends with their owners at the same time.

Grace was raised with two German Shepherds, and was always around other dogs belonging to extended family and family friends. She loves to spend time with 'Merlot', her Dad’s Newfoundland.

Rhodri was always a ‘Cat man’ & had any array of moggies growing up, although recent experiences in Sri Lanka has swayed his affections towards dogs.

In our free time you’ll likely find us planning a hike, taking a trip into nature, reading a good book, rolling out the yoga mat or watching a film.

Looking forward to hearing from you and bonding with your adored animals.

We would like to know -

An overview of their general behaviour and habits is important for us and any specific traits or issues they have. We welcome you discussing these with us prior to meeting either via message or over the phone.

We always appreciate our clients leaving us a note with this information when we sit.

Dogs - Feeding routine? Walking routine? Routes and areas they like to walk? On or off the lead walks? How do they notify you of needing the toilet? How often they're allowed to recieve treats? How long they can be left alone for? Are they allowed on furniture? Are they allowed upstairs/in bedrooms? How to stimulate them? How to make them happy?

Cats - Feeding routine? Are they an outside or inside cat? How to make them happy?

Other animals - Feeding routine? How to make them happy?

If your dogs are allowed off the lead it is very important for us to know what level of recall we can expect to receive as new carers of your dog/s. And what tricks you have to ensure they always come back to us. Do taking treats or balls on walks work for example?
