About Me: A Passionate Pet Caregiver with a Designer’s Touch

Hello! My name is KIRI, and I am a dedicated and passionate pet sitter with a unique background that combines extensive pet care experience with a deep understanding of animal health and well-being.

My journey to becoming a professional pet sitter started with my beloved rescue dog, who has had a profound impact on my life. I have always had a strong love for animals, and this love led me to a path where I now provide exceptional care for pets, especially those with special needs. Five years ago, I adopted a small dog who had been abandoned on the streets. Despite the challenges she faced, including heart disease and encephalitis (a neurological condition that causes seizures), I made a vow to care for her to the best of my ability.

 Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience in managing her condition, learning how to provide both medical and emotional support. Unfortunately, there are very few products on the market designed specifically to help pets with seizures or neurological disorders, which made me realize just how important it is to have a comprehensive understanding of their needs.

 This experience changed the course of my life. I decided to leave my career as an architect and move to the UK to study product design, specifically focused on creating products that can improve the lives of pets with chronic conditions like epilepsy. Through my studies, I’ve developed an understanding of how design can enhance the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of pets. I approach pet care not just from the perspective of a pet sitter, but also as a designer who understands the intricacies of what pets need to feel secure, happy, and healthy.

My passion for animals extends far beyond just providing food and shelter; it’s about offering them a loving environment, where they feel at ease, especially if they have medical conditions. I’m proud to say that my detailed and compassionate approach has allowed me to successfully manage the care of my dog with epilepsy for several years.

 I’m well-versed in monitoring her symptoms, administering her medication, and offering comfort during difficult episodes. This experience has equipped me with the skills to care for dogs with chronic illnesses and special needs.
