After working 11 years for Thames Valley Police as a Senior Vetting Officer and then a Criminal Justice Administrator, my husband and I decided to give up the stressful life and live in our favourite county of Cornwall.
Whilst working full time in Oxford, I was also looking after people's pets and realised this was my niche so I decided to do this full time in Cornwall. I am passionate about animals and am completely trustworthy as you will see from the references that have been given to me below.
I do not have pets of my own as I offer dog boarding so your animals will have full roam our humble 3 bedroomed cottage and garden. I offer competitive rates to either stay in your home or visit your pets on a daily basis. I recently completed a dog first aid training day with my local vet. I have public liability insurance and I am vetted periodically.
I look forward to hearing from you with a view to meeting you and your pets.
"During our regular absences from home over the last twelve years, our two Abyssinian cats have been looked after by Carol Bowen. She is highly professional and completely trustworthy. It has been very reassuring to have her visit our home twice a day to feed the cats, as well as turn lights on and off, draw the curtains and put the dustbins out etc. to deter burglars. Our cats love her and she is very caring, patient and kind, playing with them in the garden or cuddling them on the sofa. She has even sent us photos of them when we have been on longer holidays, to demonstrate how content they are, which has been very reassuring! We will really miss her and can recommend her, without hesitation. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have. Kelly, Oxfordshire"
"Carol has looked after my cats for the last six years whenever I've been away from home. She has done an excellent job. They aren't the easiest cats to care for as they are all rescues with a range of medical conditions including the need to give all three of them regular medication at different times, and different food requirements for each. Carol has also taken one to the vet when he became ill whilst I was away, in her own time. She doesn't just feed and medicate the cats either - she also takes time to play with them. She draws the curtains so that it looks like we are at home when we are not, improving the security of our home. I am very grateful to her and very sorry to lose her! But my loss is your gain. I warmly recommend her and using Carol to look after your pets will give you the real peace of mind that you want when you are away from home, whether on holiday or on business. Emma, Oxfordshire"
Carol was great from the first contact. After our initial meet and greet we both decided it was a good match.
While we were away Carol communicated well and sent us photographs and videos. It was clear to see that Ralph was enjoying his time there.
We will be using Carol again next time we go away and won’t hesitate to book her in the future.
Carol is a phenomenal pet sitter. Her communication with us while we were away was top notch and she was great about keeping us up to date with everything going on with our pups! She also took great care of the house- we came home to a clean, well ordered home that looked exactly the same as when we left it!
Overall we would recommend Carol wholeheartedly to any pet owners out there who are looking for a high quality, awesome sitter! We'll certainly be using her again in the future!
Completed a practical dog first aid training with a local vet in October 2018 and March 2020. I have public liability insurance.
